**About the role:**

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be involved in maintaining and repairing building systems-including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and HVAC-while ensuring compliance with safety codes and energy efficiency standards. **What You'll Do:**
+ Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
+ Align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
+ Maintain an energy management program. Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
+ Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform emergency repairs as needed.
+ Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
+ Review inspection to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
+ Apply advanced knowledge to tackle sophisticated problems, mentor others across fields, and lead by example in alignment with CBRE RISE values to foster collaboration and consensus.
**What You'll Need:**
+ High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience with 4-5 years of job-related experience. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
+ Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
+ Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
+ Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
+ Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and prior CMMS experience preferred
+ Organizational skills with a sophisticated inquisitive attitude.
+ Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly sophisticated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

The Product Engineer plays a critical role in designing, developing, improving, and supporting Sunlight Batteries' product portfolio. This role partners closely with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure products meet performance, safety, cost, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in battery systems, electrochemistry, or energy storage technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Design
Support the design, development, and improvement of battery products (lead-acid, lithium-ion, or advanced chemistries).
Create and maintain product specifications, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
Conduct engineering calculations, modeling, and validation testing to ensure product performance and safety.
Participate in prototype builds and aid in transitioning designs into production.
Manufacturing Support
Collaborate with production teams to resolve design or process issues.
Analyze product failures and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Optimize product cost and manufacturability through design improvements and material selection.
Testing & Validation
Develop test plans and oversee product performance, durability, and safety testing.
Interpret test data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
Product Lifecycle Management
Own engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle, including ECNs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Evaluate supplier components and collaborate with procurement on technical decisions.
Customer & Technical Support
Provide technical expertise for customer inquiries and field applications.
Support root cause analysis for customer issues and partner with quality teams on resolutions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
2-5+ years of engineering experience in batteries, energy storage, manufacturing, or related industries.
Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
Hands-on experience with testing and analyzing electrochemical or mechanical systems.
Strong understanding of product development processes and engineering documentation.
Ability to solve complex problems systematically and communicate effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with lithium ion cell or battery pack design.

Overview
The Building Engineer is responsible for providing assistance and support in the repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment, machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of commercial real estate establishments.
Responsibilities
Repairs, maintains, and installs machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous operations.
