Preference is for candidates available to work from our Corvallis, OR office location. Reporting to the Manager, NSSS Piping and Integration, this position performs design and analysis of the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) pipe systems in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III and applicable regulatory requirements. This position is part of the NSSS design engineering organization that generates technical requirements and associated design parameters for the modular advanced light water reactor (ALWR) NSSS. Utilizing proven state-of-the-art methodologies NSSS components are engineered to nuclear industry standards. All work within the NSSS design organization is completed under ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and respective U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performs piping design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping systems using the Bentley AutoPIPE computer program in accordance with the requirements of NB, NC, ND-3600, respectively.
* Performs piping design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping components using the ANSYS computer program in accordance with the requirements of NB-3200 (preferred).
* Performs pipe support design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III NF supports using hand calculations or ANSYS computer program.
* Performs static and dynamic analysis including response spectrum and time history analysis to calculate stresses due to deadweight, thermal expansion, thermal gradients, seismic events, and fluid transients.
* Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, and other documentation that communicate the design and technical aspects of piping components associated with NSSS systems. The development of Drawings and CAD models is based on collaboration with drafters and requires the engineer to reviews models that have been developed in Siemens NX.
* Offers design solutions (piping re-route, reconfiguration of supports, etc.) in order to satisfy piping stress criteria with assistance from subject matter experts.
* Works on complex tasks in multiple and diverse areas.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
* Education/Certification: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university, is required. A professional engineer (P.E.) certification is preferred.

SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
As a Revenue Operations Engineer you will work with our Data Analytics team to support our Sales, Marketing, and other internal teams with data management, portability, and analysis. Utilities and Energy (U&E) provides steam, chilled water, electricity, and other district energy services to the University of Oregon's main campus in Eugene, Oregon. Our team is comprised of approximately 25 diverse and specialized staff including utility electricians, co-generation engineers, maintenance technicians, and administrative staff. Our Central Power Station is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. Major assets that we operate, maintain, and repair include:
o 10MW combined heat and power (CHP) plant
o 2 industrial natural gas fired boilers
o 7,500 ton chilled water plant
o 3 million gallon thermal energy storage tank
o 6.5MW emergency power generation
o 4 miles of distribution tunnels with connections to more than 80 buildings
o Instrumentation and controls
We work closely with Design and Construction, Facilities Services, Safety and Risk Services, the Sustainability Office, Research and Innovation, Information Services, Housing, and our local utility providers to deliver safe, reliable, cost and energy efficient utilities to the University of Oregon.
Position Summary
This position serves as the Utilities and Energy campus wide operator/dispatcher for the University of Oregon, and acts a as the point of contact for utility distribution issues at the University of Oregon. This position will safely operate the UO steam plant, which consists of two high-pressure saturated steam boilers with the combined capacity of 125,000 lbs per hour; One Combined Cycle Co-Generation plant (CTG/HRSG) capable of generating 7.5 MW (Gas Turbine) and 65,000 lbs of 600-psi steam: 3.5 MW (Steam Turbine). It will also operate the UO chilled water plant that consists of (5) electric centrifugal chillers with capacity of 7,500 tons of cooling with the additional 3 million gallon thermal tank, 18 cooling towers, pumps and associated equipment. The operator is responsible for the distribution of the 12,470 Volt electrical load to the UO campus buildings, and will assist with configuring the plant to “Island Mode” if loss of power occurs from EWEB. The incumbent is responsible for regulating access, providing training, maintaining the operation, and monitoring all work performed in the UO utility distribution tunnel system. This position monitors BAS (building automation system) alarms, and controls within the UO steam plant, and chiller plant, and building HVAC system. The incumbent in this role must maintain the skills necessary for the ever-changing technology based automation systems, by training and learning daily. The incumbent will be expected to complete preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all power plant, and building equipment.
Interactions/contacts:
Interactions/contacts occur daily with CPFM and the campus community in the course of performing work and responding to emergencies. This position works with electrical and maintenance staff within the Utilities and Energy Department on a daily basis. This position will also be in contact with outside contractors, vendors and regulatory agencies (LRAPA and DEQ).
Decisions:
Position works as a member of a team. Decisions made by this position affect the entire University. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a continuous flow of electricity, steam, chilled water and other utilities to the University in normal and emergency situations. Additional job-related decisions may include: when to start or stop equipment, interpreting equipment data and applying corrective actions.

o 6.5MW emergency power generation

We work closely with Design and Construction, Facilities Services, Safety and Risk Services, the Sustainability Office, Research and Innovation, Information Services, Housing, and our local utility providers to deliver safe, reliable, cost and energy efficient utilities to the University of Oregon.
Position Summary
This position serves as the Utilities and Energy campus wide operator/dispatcher for the University of Oregon, and acts a as the point of contact for utility distribution issues at the University of Oregon. This position will safely operate the UO steam plant, which consists of two high-pressure saturated steam boilers with the combined capacity of 125,000 lbs per hour; One Combined Cycle Co-Generation plant (CTG/HRSG) capable of generating 7.5 MW (Gas Turbine) and 65,000 lbs of 600-psi steam: 3.5 MW (Steam Turbine). It will also operate the UO chilled water plant that consists of (5) electric centrifugal chillers with capacity of 7,500 tons of cooling with the additional 3 million gallon thermal tank, 18 cooling towers, pumps and associated equipment. The operator is responsible for the distribution of the 12,470 Volt electrical load to the UO campus buildings, and will assist with configuring the plant to "Island Mode" if loss of power occurs from EWEB. The incumbent is responsible for regulating access, providing training, maintaining the operation, and monitoring all work performed in the UO utility distribution tunnel system. This position monitors BAS (building automation system) alarms, and controls within the UO steam plant, and chiller plant, and building HVAC system. The incumbent in this role must maintain the skills necessary for the ever-changing technology based automation systems, by training and learning daily. The incumbent will be expected to complete preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all power plant, and building equipment.
Interactions/contacts:
Interactions/contacts occur daily with CPFM and the campus community in the course of performing work and responding to emergencies. This position works with electrical and maintenance staff within the Utilities and Energy Department on a daily basis. This position will also be in contact with outside contractors, vendors and regulatory agencies (LRAPA and DEQ).
Decisions:
Position works as a member of a team. Decisions made by this position affect the entire University. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a continuous flow of electricity, steam, chilled water and other utilities to the University in normal and emergency situations. Position Summary
This position, Research Engineer or "RE" is responsible for providing leadership, management and technical support for shared facilities and equipment for analysis and fabrication of biological samples. The RE will oversee the operations of staffed and unstaffed shared facilities and equipment, provide consultation on the design and implementation of studies using the shared equipment, generate relevant operating procedures, and oversee health and safety in facilities and regarding the use of equipment. A core responsibility of this position is to oversee development and the operations of the Bioanalysis and Biofabrication core facility which combines biomolecular and cellular analysis along with bioprinting and microfluidic methods in support of bioengineering research. The RE will work closely with Knight Campus leadership, faculty advisory group and users to ensure that the facilities meet the needs of internal and external users, develop long-term business plans for sustaining the shared facilities, and build and sustain a strong internal and external user base. In addition, the RE will work with Knight Campus and UO facilities personnel on installation and infrastructure projects.
This is a full-time position that reports to the Senior Associate Vice President for Research. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in bioengineering/biomedical engineering, material science engineering, materials science, physics, biophysics, biology, chemistry, or related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience within shared research/equipment facilities with a strong focus on biological samples and experiments.
• Three years of experience working with biocharacterization and/or biofabrication, including experience with techniques such as biomaterial analysis, 3D bioprinting, cell culture and analysis, rheological analysis, or microscopy.
• Experience in project management, staff and/or student supervision, financial/budget administration relevant to a scientific/technical facility.
Professional Competencies
• Knowledge of research laboratory safety and regulations, as well as facility infrastructure, operations, and maintenance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders, including faculty, researchers, administrators, and external partners.

Position Summary
Perform a range of technical/engineering assignments under the supervision of a senior engineer on less complex assignments.
