This position is for staff product applications engineer. The position supports semiconductor products, developed in Colorado Springs, CO, developed for the Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) market. Products in this strategy include Device Power Supplies (DPS) and integrated high speed and precision signal chains targeted towards ATE applications. The product applications engineer will be responsible for ATE products from concept and definition through production, release, and sustaining. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and fast learner with strong technical, analytical and communication skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with an experienced development team.
Responsibilities:
Lead the customer engagement activities associated with the development of ATE product concepts including new product definition. Work closely with customers and ADI Marketing/Design/Field Applications/Market Segment communities to define successful new products for this portfolio.
Be responsible for ATE Device Power Supply design-in successes for assigned released products and products under development. Manage relationships with customers during their design-in phase with a power supply solution mind set. This will involve gaining an understanding of the customer's application and providing innovative, practical, and timely solutions to customer challenges.
Analysis of product evaluation and reliability test data.
Designing and executing evaluation test methods to characterize and measure new silicon performance over customer use case and environmental conditions, interpreting the measurement data, identifying silicon issues and debugging to root cause.
Preparing evaluation hardware and diagnostic programs, designing test fixtures, and completing specifications and procedures for new products.
Contribute to ATE product datasheets
Creation and production of design-in tools that reinforce a product's customer value proposition. These include but are not limited to: demonstration systems, on-line tools and technical literature (user guides, application notes, Circuits from The Lab reference designs, design notes, technical seminars and FAQs).
Develop and participate in online and in person training activities for customers, field application engineers, sales engineers and distributors.
Develop system level power supply understanding in ATE systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification with at least 5-10 years' experience. Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is preferred.
The ideal candidate would have experience in switching DC/DC converters, analog circuits, semiconductor IC processes, and system engineering is also beneficial.
A solid understanding of loop compensation (poles, zeros, BW, phase margin, etc.) is a plus.
Communication with our customers and our sales/field applications engineers requires an outgoing personality with a pleasant and professional manner. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are a key requirement.
Experience with ATE products including pin drivers, comparators, parametric measurement units (PPMU) and device power supplies (DPS) from a design or a usage perspective is desirable but not required.
PCB schematic entry and layout design experience is required preferably in Cadence ALLEGRO
Experience using SPICE circuit simulators including LTSPICE would be an advantage.
Familiarity with commonly used electronic test equipment is important, e.g. Oscilloscopes and Frequency Signal Generators, Vector Network Analysers and Spectrum Analysers
Experience needed with high level software languages. Examples include LabVIEW, C# or C, Python and Matlab.
As the job requires constant communication with customers, it will therefore necessitate travel within the US and occasionally Europe and Asia.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Proficiency in MS Office, MathCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, ACI 318, AISC 360, ASCE-7, and IBC.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience with design for Department of Energy governmental facility projects following DOE-STD-1020.
* Experience performing work under a robust quality assurance program such as ASME NQA-1.

The Structural Equipment Engineer will work under supervision of a senior level engineer and will be proficient in preparing engineering calculations and sketches; reviewing drawings; assist with developing project proposals, scopes, and budgets; generating specifications and technical reports; directing design staff in the preparation of drawings and other engineering deliverables. The Engineer will proficiently use engineering software applications and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a design professional, this individual will be responsible for producing innovative and cost-effective designs, drawings, and specifications with a customer-friendly focus.
* Application of engineering and construction knowledge:
* Develop complete structural design of various structural systems using the appropriate building and material codes. These systems are typically steel, concrete, or a combination of the two.
* Develop design concepts and recommend appropriate structural gravity/lateral support and foundation systems
* Evaluate existing concrete and steel structures and provide written reports on deficiencies for client review. Recommend non-destructive or destructive tests for further evaluation.
* Design:
* Prepare clear, complete, and concise calculations, including software analysis models, and provides the appropriate level of connection design as required.
* Coordinate work with other disciplines. Performs interdisciplinary coordination checks to minimize deficiencies, errors, and omissions in engineering deliverables.
* Assist with preparation of design criteria for all assigned projects and assures compliance with project and client requirements.
* Producing well-organized structural engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
* Participate in bid reviews when requested and the 30%, 60%, and 90% design reviews on all assigned projects.
* Construction Support:
* Review shop drawings and submittals for specification compliance in a timely manner.
* Participate in appropriate preconstruction/preparatory meetings.
* Perform site visits and prepares observation/follow-up phase reports documenting progress and deficiencies.
* Review all structural-related testing and inspection reports.
* Respond to all RFIs and provides construction support as required.
