Full Description
VitalCheck Wellness, as administrative agent, is seeking a committed and compassionate PatientCareCoordinator with experience in phlebotomy to assist patients in making referral appointments and perform skilled specimen collections for employees of a private business in Johnstown, NY. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to create a supportive environment. The employer will be a New York professional corporation owned and directed by licensed physicians.
Will consider an LPN, Phlebotomist, or a CNA/ MA and Paramedic with phlebotomy experience (Phlebotomy certificate preferred).
Responsibilities:
Perform/collect specimens accurately (phlebotomy).
Perform and collect specimens for drug screenings in accordance with established protocols.
Record patient information, including insurance information, and utilize electronic health records.
Discuss and consult health history, diagnosis, and needs with patients.
Educate patient on necessary steps for follow up care.
Establish and maintain relationships with service providers.
Maintain professionalism and treat patients with respect.
Provide excellent customer service to patients.
Collect data and create spreadsheets.
Requirements:
Clean active license/ certification.
Active BLS/ ACLS certification required.
Must have phlebotomy experience (Certified phlebotomist preferred).
Experience with specimen collection for drug testing is highly valued.
Proven experience with medical scheduling and familiarity with EMR system is a plus.
Customer service-oriented and has great bedside manner.
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
Comfortable working independently or with little to no supervision
Personal laptop or tablet required.

What You'll Do
Animal CareCoordinator reports directly to the Manager, Medical Operations and has no direct reports.
The Animal CareCoordinator supports the care and movement of kittens through the Nursery on their way to and from foster homes through both direct care and administrative work. Their work includes handling kittens for medical appointments, updating and maintaining medical records, and preparing discharges and medications for kittens going to foster. Along with other direct care roles, they work under the guidance of veterinarians and licensed veterinarian technicians to assist in the delivery of individual animal and population level medical care following low-stress handling principles and shelter medicine practices.

This position is an on-site role and reports to the 92nd street ASPCA location.
This is a seasonal full time role (late March-late November)

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.
The target hiring range for this role is $24.45-$25.90 hourly.

Ensure accurate and timely data entry to animals' medical records, including transfer of information from Animal Care Centers of NY and from other ASPCA departments, and diagnostic test results from outside laboratories
Prepare animal records in anticipation of services for Community Medicine and AAH appointments, to coincide with foster returns and timely, efficient movement throughout an animal's stay
Create Foster Medical Discharges and medical disclosures under the direction of veterinarians or licensed veterinary technicians
Collect histories from good Samaritans relinquishing kittens to the Nursery
Review health monitoring data submitted by foster volunteers to ensure records are complete
Competently and compassionately explain information veterinarians have documented about an animal's condition to other Kitten Nursery staff members, volunteers, and foster caregivers with easily understood language
Cultivate positive and productive relationships with staff, foster families and members of the public to support positive animal outcomes
Participate in daily Nursery Rounds to support the efficient movement of animals into and through foster homes.
Be an active learner - attend staff meetings and training sessions, seek-out opportunities to develop as a professional
Represent the ASPCA in a professional, and courteous manner at all times

Veterinary Support 30%
Provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals in our care, our staff, and for our volunteers by using low-stress handling techniques.
Handle and restrain animals for medical procedures utilizing the least-restraint and lowest-stress techniques possible
Administer oral and topical medications as directed by veterinary staff during examinations
Prepare medications for foster volunteers to administer to kittens in foster care
Transport animals (using low-stress techniques) and their medical records within ASPCA departments for necessary care, including but not limited to transfers to the ASPCA Animal Hospital and/or Community Medicine
Animal Care and Welfare 20%
Provide attentive care for all kittens, as well as nursing mother cats with kittens, including routine bottle feeding, assisted feeding, and stimulating elimination
Clean and sanitize cages, enclosures, and all equipment in accordance with Nursery Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure the comfort and cleanliness of shelter animals; always provide appropriate bedding, and appropriate daily enrichment
Continually monitor the nursery population for general well-being, signs of illness, and behavior concerns; communicate findings to appropriate team members as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures
Work in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Position is entry level and requires 0-3 years' experience preferably in a medical office setting. What the role is about:
* Maintains and safeguards entrusted confidential information; maintains vigilance for patient medication safety.
* Assists customers with all aspects of preparing, setting up, and finalizing the dispensation process for medication as regulated by the office of medical cannabis.
* Completes CPC operational requirements by maintaining an organized workflow, verifying preparation, and labeling of medications, verifying order entries and charges.
* Utilizes computer systems and programs appropriately for daily operations such as patient communication, refill orders, making appointments and home deliveries. Facilitates thorough and accurate input of patient and provider demographic information in seed-to-sale software system.
* Maintains cash register and accountability for assigned drawer; completes opening/closing procedures as assigned.
* Complies with state law and all regulations and provides oversight for overall dispensary compliance under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Understands and stays up to date on state regulations pertaining to medical cannabis.
* Participates in recordkeeping and reporting necessary for State Compliance.
* Attends staff meetings, continuing education, as directed.
* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with custodial procedures, rules, and regulations. Must adhere to infection-control standards such as handwashing.
* Assists patients and caregivers through the dispensary process/experience.
* Educates patients on the proper use and storage of medical cannabis medications.
* Follows the Green Goods customers service model.
* Works with supervisors to set and accomplish goals.
* Completes opening/closing procedures as assigned.
* Responds to all patient communication platforms (Text, Emails, Voicemail, ETC.)
* Troubleshoots to solve patient issues regarding the usage of their cannabis products.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:
Pay Range: $17 - $22 per hour
SCOPE: Greets patients and their guests into the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff. Supports and adheres to the Practice's Core Values, Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation. Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and patient records guidelines. Reference and uphold CORE values daily.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtain all appropriate forms as required.
Verify/obtain demographic and insurance information. Obtains copy of patient's insurance cards and current driver's license for file. Updates demographic and insurance information as needed in the system.
Confirm all new patient paperwork, address patients' needs that walk in with or without an appointment.
Collects co-pays, deductible and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit. Issues receipts as necessary.
Postage to outgoing mail, pick up mail from the mailbox, open, date, distribute, and address envelopes as needed.
Identifies no shows and forwards for patient notification (per policy). Notifies necessary staff of any late or early arrivals.
Prepares correspondence, memos, forms, and other typing as requested by supervisor. Prints schedules as needed.
Verifies the end of day balance and cash out, fill out and date deposit slip. Responsible for an accurate account of the money in the cash box and locking its contents in the site safe.
Responsible for batching out at the end of each shift and closing any monetary drawers at the end of each business day.
Maintains lobby area on a neat and orderly manner.
Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
Responsible for meeting appropriate metrics and a checklist provided by your supervisor.
