The first pearl farms were started in 1956 at Kuri Bay by an American entrepreneur and a Japanese grafting technician.

Banice Bazar and his Bazar Inc. purchased Pearls by Deltah in 1971.
Bazar acquired the firm in 1973 and its operations have since relocated to the main East Providence, Rhode Island facility where Imperial-Deltah is based.
Under the leadership of Banice Bazar, whose Bazar Inc. purchased Imperial in 1977, the company's leadership role in the cultured pearl market was reestablished, as the demand for both cultured and simulated pearls boomed during the following decade.

Also the company has fabric development centres in China and India as well as design and product development teams in India UK US and Hong Kong.House of Pearl Fashions Ltd was incorporated as a private limited company under the name Minia Estates Pvt Ltd on July 5 1989.

On June 1, 1995, Imperial Pearl Syndicate and Pearls by Deltah were merged to form Imperial-Deltah, Inc.
2001 PepsiCo acquired The Quaker Oats Company, bringing the Aunt Jemima brand into the PepsiCo portfolio.
In May 2004 Nor Pearl and Norp Knit were incorporated as the subsidiaries in Bangladesh which are engaged in the manufacture of knit garments for export.
