The facility provides outpatient behavioral health services and operates a sixteen-bed psychiatric inpatient unit. CRMHC is looking for a temporary placement pharmacist for a period of approximately three and a half months. The position will report to the CRMHC full-time Pharmacist and the CRMHC Medical Director. The position is Monday - Friday: 1st shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. On-call is not a component of the position. The temporary placement pharmacist will assist and be directly supervised by the CRMHC Pharmacist. The position involves providing pharmacy services to a proportion of the CRMHC outpatient clients and all the clients on the sixteen-bed inpatient psychiatric unit.
The successful candidate will have experience working with behavioral health clients, able to communicate effectively, work well with pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff, and have familiarity with word processing and pharmacy software systems (experience with a Pyxis system is preferred).
The candidate will need to have successfully graduated from a US accredited pharmacy program. Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist issued by the Connecticut State Department of Consumer Protection is required.
Position Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for preparing, dispensing, and reviewing prescription medications while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and regulatory compliance in accordance with Connecticut Pharmacy Law and Board of Pharmacy regulations. As a per diem Pharmacist for MiraVista in Holyoke, Massachusetts, you ll bring your experience and knowledge where your voice matters. A Pharmacist is an integral part of our multidisciplinary treatment team. You will provide direct care and support not only to our patients but also their families and make decisions that impact the lives of your peers, your patients, and your community. As a Per Diem Pharmacist:
You work to ensure the delivery of appropriate medication therapy to patients in a timely and safe manner.
You will review medication orders to determine whether clinically appropriate and to minimize risk of adverse events.
You contribute effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team to enhance patient care.
You will supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns.
You will work collaboratively with all pharmacy staff members to effectively manage pharmacy inventory.
You provide drug information to medical staff and patients upon request or when need is apparent.
You work to assist in the maintenance of relevant patient files within the Electronic Health Record.
You must comply with state and federal pharmacy regulations as well as hospital policies to ensure quality of pharmacy services.
Successful Per Diem Pharmacist candidates will have the following:
Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
Minimum of one to three years of experience working in a hospital or long-term care pharmacy setting strongly preferred.
Valid Massachusetts pharmacist license.
Experience with automated dispensing machines (ex. Pyxis, Omnicell).
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Pay Range:
Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience.
