Distributes and maintains accurate syllabi that incorporates departmental, college, cross-college, and instructor requirements. Conducts classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule. Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure students' performance in achieving course goals and objectives. Engages in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson relative to teaching duties and professional development.
Student Engagement & Advisement
Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and support for learners. Maintains posted office hours in accordance with departmental and policies of the College. Uses technology to assist in communication with students. Adjunct Faculty Essential Responsibilities

* Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons. Note preparation time will vary based on instructor experience in teaching that course
* Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved, standardized syllabus
* Provide Interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-life setting
* Suitably challenge, engage, serve and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect
* Complete grade books, final grade sheets, learning assessments and final exam assessments on a timely basis
* Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
* Maintain a paper or electronic record (i.e., spreadsheet or grade book) of each student's progress and has it available upon request by students and/or appropriate College personnel.
* Facilitates meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively supports all facets of the learning environment. .
* Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and students and engaging students in the learning process.
* Design, administer, and grade examinations to assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus and as approved by the Academic Dean.
* Complete as directed all end of term responsibilities, including submission of final grades, copies of exams, attendance records, and all other designated materials to the Academic Office.
* Consult with the academic area chair or other appropriate College personnel on questions or issues involving course curricula, instructional strategies, and College policies and procedures.
* Respond to requests (e.g., from students, academic area chairs, department heads, committee chairs, Records Office) in a timely and thorough manner.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in either math education or a closely related field with a concentration in mathematics.
* Previous math teaching experience.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to act effectively as a member of a team.

* Some night or weekend hours may be required.

The Adjunct - Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The Adjunct role provides instruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair or other leadership members. The incumbent must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while engaging large groups of people with complicated material. Teaching responsibilities may include basic mechanisms and drives, motors, control logic, programmable logic controllers, vacuum systems, and mechatronics.

This course fulfills the educational requirements established in The Advance Ohio Education Act (Senate Bill 1), which requires students to read and engage key documents in America's civic tradition. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for civic education and a commitment to passing along America's civic tradition to the next generation of university students.
CCD 1001 explores the foundational principles, texts, and ideas that have shaped the American constitutional order and civic life. Through rigorous analysis of historical documents, students will gain a deeper understanding of the values of democracy, liberty, justice, and civic responsibility. The course culminates in a comprehensive understanding of the U.S. Constitution, key historical speeches, and their relevance to contemporary governance and public service.
