Job Summary

This APP will have the opportunity to capitalize on his/her clinical expertise in the areas of office spine triage to appropriately assess, diagnose, and treat patients. In addition, this APP will also have the opportunity for cross training in the operating room. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, motivated, high functioning, and seeking a role where they can make a meaningful impact and contribution to patients needing neurosurgical care. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday.

Job Duties

Communication and collaborative planning are vital for smooth day-to-day operations.
Proactively reviewing clinic schedules and communicating with other team members such as the neurosurgeon, fellow APPs, MAAs, and other staff.
Assessing and triaging new referrals for clinic.
Triaging patient phone calls and providing treatment plans and counseling.
Ensuring patients are seen in a timely fashion.
Diagnosing and developing treatment plans for patients.
Ordering imaging, injections, and referral to the Neurosurgeon when needed.
Completing clinic notes before the end of the day to ensure seamless care.
Providing assistance and guidance to central scheduling and the MAA for clinical matters.
Authorize and discuss prescription refills.
Assess and triage second opinion medical records documentation.
Assistin triaging patient phone calls for image review, collaborating with the neurosurgeon for concerns that are time-sensitive.
Assistin completing peer to peer reviews with insurance companies for patient imaging, prior authorization for treatment plans, and medication needs.
Provide one on one communication with patients and/or families to deliver education and treatment plans regarding medical diagnoses.
Assistin preparing a patient for potential surgery, recognizing the preferences of the Neurosurgeon.
Attend spine conference to engage in ongoing professional development.
Collaborate with interventional pain management team within GCBS on patients when appropriate.
Acting as first assistant to the neurosurgeon in the operating room.
Assistin calling patients before and after surgery to provide education on OR- preop assessment, post op expectations, home care etc

We provide this service in the area 1-2 days per month (on Saturdays) so you don?t need to be concerned about conflicts to your personal or professional time elsewhere! Generally, each clinic (depending on the number of patients scheduled) will be scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
PERTINENT INFORMATION
As the provider, you will provide disability examinations and evaluations that primarily test the claimant?s function and range of motion. The evaluation you will perform will be solely in connection with the determination of the patient?s entitlement to Social Security disability or Medicaid benefits. You will not be establishing a doctor-patient relationship nor be providing any diagnosis, advice, or treatment to the claimants, nor will you be deciding whether the claimant is eligible for benefits. You will be provided a clear template of specific tests to perform and document your assessment of such tests.
We schedule each clinic about 6-8 weeks in advance and can work around your schedule as a resident. Payment is issued immediately upon completion of the charts so there is no waiting for billing.
We will pay $50 per patient seen for the conducting of these physicals. That comes out to be about $80-$100 an hour. On average you can expect to conduct about 14-16 physicals during the 1 day/month clinic.

Support the design of customer research as medical expert.

Regulatory Support Activities (as appropriate for the stage of the molecule)
Provide medical content to regulatory documents and medical expertise to regulatory scientists.
Support/ assistin the preparation of regulatory reports, including NDAs, FDA annual reports and Periodic Adverse Drug Experience Reports (PADERS), preparation for FDA advisory committee hearings and label discussions, local registration efforts, and communication and resolution of regulatory issues, including regulatory response, from a global perspective.
Participate in advisory committees.
Participate in risk management planning along with affiliates and Global Patient Safety (GPS).
Participate in development and review of label changes and labeling modifications in collaboration with affiliates, brand teams, regulatory, and legal.
Contribute to the development of medical strategies to support brand commercialization activities by working closely with business unit, brand team, clinical plans personnel and other cross-functional management during the development of the local business plan.
Understand and anticipate the scientific information needs of all Development customers (payers, patients, health care providers).
Actively address Development customer (payer, patient, and health care providers) questions in a timely fashion by leading data analyses and new clinical or global patient outcomes research efforts.
Establish effective collaborations with marketing personnel in the various geographic regions to further corporate demand realization.
Establish and maintain contact with external experts and opinion leaders; maintain a credible scientific expertise to facilitate these contacts.
Contribute as a scientific and medical expert to activities and deliverables of the PRA organization, in particular giving clinical input and insight to develop payer partnership programs and defend the product value.
Support business-to-business and business-to-government activities as medical expert.
Contribute actively on an ongoing basis to the strategic planning for the brand.
By offering scientific and creative input, contribute to the development, review, and approval of promotional materials and tactics as needed.

Basic Qualifications
Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy. Must be board eligible or certified in appropriate specialty/subspecialty or have completed the comparable level of post-medical school clinical training relevant to the country of hiring. US trained physicians must have achieved board eligibility or certification. Physicians trained outside the US who are not US board eligible or certified may be hired directly for employment in the US at the discretion of the Chief Medical Officer.
