Responsibilities:
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances according to blueprints and building codes.
Lead and supervise apprentices and helpers, providing guidance and training to develop their skills.
Inspect plumbing systems for leaks, malfunctions, and compliance with safety regulations, performing necessary repairs or replacements.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to coordinate plumbing work within construction schedules.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
Skills:
The required skills in journeyman-level plumbing ensure the candidate can independently perform complex installations and repairs with precision and adherence to code. Leadership and interpersonal skills are essential for managing apprentices and collaborating with diverse teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Knowledge of the plumbing industry and products allows the Journeyman to select appropriate materials and techniques tailored to each project's needs. These skills are applied daily to troubleshoot issues, optimize system performance, and maintain safety standards. Preferred skills such as advanced certifications and experience with innovative plumbing technologies enhance the ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions and mentor others effectively.
