    POOL ATTENDANT Part-time PRN for South Franklin Circle in Chagrin Falls Part-time/PRN - Schedule will be every Thursday from 7:30AM to 3:00PM MAJOR PERK WITH THIS POSITION! (these perks can be used during employee hours) General Purpose: To monitor and maintain the safety and cleanliness of the pool area (at applicable campuses) and locker rooms. Greet swimmers as they arrive and maintain a warm, welcoming environment. Provide clean towels for swimmers as they leave the pool. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : This position may require day, evening or weekend work. Pool Attendants are hired for specific shifts, but may be called upon to sub for another Pool Attendant. Attend new Employee Orientation and Wellness Department orientation within 2 weeks of employment, to gain understanding of the Mission, Goals, Health & Wellness Philosophies and expectations. Reports directly to Senior Pool Attendant, and ultimately the Wellness Director. Greets swimmers as they arrive and maintains a warm and friendly environment at all times. Monitors and/or maintains the safety and cleanliness of the pool area and locker rooms and reports any concerns to the Senior Pool Attendant or to maintenance, housekeeping or Wellness Director if Sr. Pool Attendant is not available. Notifies “SPA” (Senior Pool Attendant) of any supplies that need to be ordered for the pool area. Maintains accurate daily records of pool chemistry, attendance, pool temperature, and notifies “SPA” of any variations from the norms. Completes incident Reports as needed and immediately submits them to “SPA” or Wellness Director. If neither is available, the pool attendant will inform the Vice President and Director of Health Services of the incident, and submit a copy of the report to them. Directs questions or concerns when unsure how to answer, or if questions or concerns cannot be satisfied, to the “SPA” or Wellness Director. Substitutes for other pool attendants whenever available on an “as needed” basis. Other duties as assigned Other Related Duties May be asked to phone class participants in the event that a class is cancelled at the last minute. This position may require day, evening or weekend work. Pool Attendants are hired for specific shifts, but may be called upon to sub for another Pool Attendant. Answer the Pool phone and provide information about Pool Hours and Classes. Refer any calls that you are unable to answer to Senior Pool Attendant, Program Coordinator, or Wellness Director. Provide water for Aquatic class participants as needed. Put away any stray Aquatic Exercise Equipment after swimmer use. DRY mop exercise room floor at the end of the day. Assist in yearly cleaning of natatorium and outside Pool deck. Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications : Required Qualifications: Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and time management skills with a strong background in successfully delivering exceptional customer service and strong attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal supervision, time management skills to ensure completion of duties. Have access to a computer and cell phone in order to receive work-related emails and phone messages from coworkers, supervisors and All Judson notifications. Must have reliable transportation to/from work. Preferred Qualifications: Experience communicating and working with older adults. High School level or higher education. Physical Requirements: Physical demands may include standing or sitting for extended periods, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs., climbing stairs, bending, stooping and repetitive motion. The ability to communicate verbally and in writing, to perceive and understand verbal and written communications, use personal computers, telephones and other standard office equipment are required. Working Conditions: Pool (natatorium) and office setting.

Report any unsafe conditions to necessary personal. Please conduct yourself in a professional manner, remember you are a reflection of the YMCA. Maintain your physical ability to perform rescues. Attend all in-service trainings. There will be one a month that will last at least 2 hours. You must attend. Ensure storage of equipment is kept clean and equipment is stored properly. Read and understand evaluation criteria. Be prepared to work evenings, weekends and holidays. You will be required to work on weekends. Two times a month Friday, Saturday or Sundays. You are required to work at least 2 shifts per week up to 10 hour a week to receive the Family Membership. Perform any unique duties requested, as deemed appropriate, by your supervisor.
