For this position the person will be required to learn about the equipment in the facility, get hands-on when required to help with problem solving and fixing processes. They will help design new processes, or additions to current equipment to improve a process or fix an issue. This can include getting involved with mechanical and electrical drawings. There will be a learning curve to all of this since their production processes are unique to their product. However, this person will have to have the mechanical engineering knowledge to apply to their problem solving and calculations. This person will eventually get involved in communication to state safety reps, when updating certifications or permits, and following regulations. They'll learn and assist with following the ISO 9001 quality standards for the facility and help with work instructions.
All in all this will be a very diverse position where the individual will get involved in all areas of manufacturing/plant engineering. This is a lean team where people handle a wide range of responsibilities.

There will be a learning curve to all of this since their production processes are unique to their product. However, this person will have to have the mechanical engineering knowledge to apply to their problem solving and calculations. This person will eventually get involved in communication to state safety reps, when updating certifications or permits, and following regulations. They'll learn and assist with following the ISO 9001 quality standards for the facility and help with work instructions.
All in all this will be a very diverse position where the individual will get involved in all areas of manufacturing/plant engineering. This is a lean team where people handle a wide range of responsibilities.
Understand Plant Production Equipment
Update and create mechanical and electrical drawings
Maintain compliance with relevant local, state and federal regulations
Plan, budget and prepare new project installations
Assist cross functional team with safety, production, quality and environmental standards.

Position Description:
Our Client Chassis Design is seeking a motivated and collaborative engineer to work on various chassis functions for both development projects and production vehicles. Client Chassis design division is responsible for suspension/axle, frame, tire/wheel, shifter, steering wheel, steering system, brake system and controls. A chassis design team member typically has an opportunity to work on a variety of chassis systems over time.
We have current opportunities to work in the Body-on-Frame truck group. The position will report to the Sr Manager of the group.
What you'll be doing
Develop chassis components of Truck and SUV models, focusing on the following:
Create and manage 3D data, technical documentation, drawings, and parts lists based on vehicle change points or external group requests
Perform regulation and certification confirmation activities
Lead communication between design, supplier, and project management teams as needed
Monitor North America field issues and warranty condition for chassis components, including completing root cause investigations as needed.
Support benchmarking and study of cost reduction proposals with suppliers and make proposals for implementation
Requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
Excellent problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
5 years or more as a Mechanical engineer or equivalent
Experience in CATIA
Must be able to work up to 20% OT at various times
