ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design of specialty structural elements known as Buckling Restrained Braces (BRBs) and their connections.
Design of gusset plates and verification of local effects in frame members.
Analysis of relevant project documents to ensure compliance with project specific design requirements.
Design coordination with the Structural Engineers of Record (SEORs) responsible for the overall design of structures that use BRBs.
Coordination with members of design and construction teams (SEORs, Architects, steel fabricators, detailers, erectors, GCs, etc.) during all stages of assigned projects.
Generation of deliverable documents, such as design drawings and calculation packages.
Review and verification of shop drawings.
Response to Requests for Information (RFIs) from the field and/or from the shop as required during installation and manufacturing.
Addressing of plan check and/or peer review comments pertinent to the design of BRBs.
Performing of other occasional duties as assigned, including but not limited to assistance with bidding/pricing, occasional traveling, marketing, and Research and Development (R&D) related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one preferred.
Understanding of current building codes and standards, engineering fundamentals, and structural load paths.
Familiarity with seismic and structural steel design preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Operational knowledge of commercial structural analysis software preferred (RAM SS, ETABS, RISA, etc.)

Proven experience in Enterprise B2B SaaS or cybersecurity, in a technical customer-facing role (Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting, or similar)

About the opportunity: Staff Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer
We are currently seeking a full-time Staff Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer in our office to help us achieve our company mission. C&I is a full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.
Responsibilities include:
Prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex industrial projects that meet design intents and customer expectations. Designs are well coordinated with other departments.
Creates lists of engineering deliverables and tasks, and estimates effort hours based on limited scopes of work for complex projects.
The Staff Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer mentors junior staff, assists in the training and development of others, and identifies training needs for the department chief.
Creates a plan of execution for large and complex projects, anticipating the sequence of tasks, long lead and special items for the engineering procurement cycle, and dependencies of information from others.
Works within the project team to integrate the department plan into a multi-discipline project plan of execution.
As a Staff Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer, this individual prepares computer analyses and calculations.
Uses vendor documents, coordination prints, surveys, and models to check dimensions, determine interface points, determine physical space requirements, and provide information to other departments. etc.
Specifies process instrumentation (level, pressure, flow, temperature, etc.)
Helps develop P&IDs and create typical electrical and instrumentation design documents.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 12 years of relevant experience.
Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%
Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
Valid Driver's License
