Responsibilities
Accountable for the Node Hull structural design and integrity.

THE DETAILS
Lead Technical Execution - drive the development of forestry and lawn & garden products from concept to launch with minimal supervision.
Manage technical aspects including prototyping builds, testing and validation, design for manufacturing, technical design reviews, and creation of 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
Develop robust, cost-effective designs for high-volume manufacturing using proven tools and methodologies such as HOQ1/2, DFMEA, Hazard Risk Analysis, and DOE.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and globally dispersed colleagues to ensure project success.
Leverage end-user insights and product application knowledge to develop new analysis and test methods. Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical methods, tools, and workflows.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering required; focus on design or mechanical engineering preferred.

In response to our growing business needs the Manufacturing Engineer - Automation and AI will play a key role in driving automation and process optimization across the factory. This position focuses on implementing and managing robotics and AI technologies while collaborating closely with our production, maintenance, and engineering teams. The Manufacturing Engineer will also lead key automation initiatives from concept through implementation. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in robotics and AI, a passion for learning new systems, and the ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
What You'll Do
The individual will work closely with our manufacturing and R&D teams to optimize our future production processes.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Support and optimize manufacturing processes using robotics and AI technologies.
* Collaborate with automation integrators to implement robotics, vision systems, and AI-driven solutions across departments.
* Learn and manage existing robotic systems (e.g., Wittmann robots in injection molding) and adapt to new platforms as they are introduced, including future cobots and other brands.
* Lead one or two key automation projects at a time, overseeing planning, execution, and vendor coordination.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase throughput.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
* Assist with the creation, updating, and training of SOPs related to automation and robotics.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for robotics and AI systems.
* Contribute to a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
What We're Looking For
This role requires bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineeringor a related field. We are looking for a candidate that may have limited experience (1-2 years) but is hungry to learn and grow.
Other qualifications include:
* 1-2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, robotics, or automation.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience working independently and as part of a team.
* General robotics knowledge and the aptitude to learn new platforms (including future cobots and vision systems).
* Experience with PLC programming a plus.
* Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment and processes.
* Proficiency drawing parts and assemblies in SolidWorks
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
* Ability to coordinate, plan, and organize tasks and project demands.
* Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
* Proficiency with standard office applications (Microsoft Office).
* Flexibility and openness to assist with hands-on operations as needed.
What We'll Provide
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $72,000 to $85,000 per year at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
