Mechanical Design Engineer IV
Product engineer job in Sartell, MN
DeZURIK is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer IV who loves taking ideas from concept to implementation and seeing them come to life on the production floor. In this role, you'll own complex product development projects-designing, validating, and launching engineered valve and actuator solutions that have a direct impact on our bottom line.
You'll spend most of your time on product design, test lab work, validating projects, and running engineering analysis (3D modeling, FEA, CFD). This is a hands-on role-ideal for someone who's comfortable with mechanical systems (if you've worked on cars or like getting into how things work, you'll feel at home) and working closely with valves and flow control equipment. You'll also guide cross-functional teams, lead design reviews, and present clear recommendations to leadership and customers.
What makes this opportunity unique?
You'll get to try new ideas, explore "what haven't we done yet," and see your designs move all the way into production-joining a team where engineers have historically held patents in their names. The flip side: projects are high visibility, move quickly, and are closely tied to company performance-so you'll thrive if you enjoy meaningful work under real-world timelines.
Success milestones:
* 30 days: Comfortable with DeZURIK systems, tools, and processes.
* 60 days: Fully engaged on key projects and contributing high-level design & analysis.
* 90 days: Operating as a primary engineering resource with strong team support and limited guidance.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* 8+ years of mechanical design experience.
* EIT required; PE preferred (or strong interest in pursuing).
* Experience with SolidWorks/3D modeling, metal castings, and precision machining.
* Ability to perform and review FEA; FEA experience and valve/actuator design with industry standards preferred.
* Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Lead the engineering that keeps industries flowing-and see your ideas built, tested, and put to work.
DeZURIK offers a competitive base salary in the $109,241 to $136,551 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
Beyond pay, our market-leading benefits are designed to support your wellbeing. These include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as short- and long-term disability coverage. DeZURIK also provides a health savings account with company match, a retirement plan for employer contributions through Vanguard, and access to the Granite Assistance Fund for support when it's needed most. We value time for rest and personal growth, offering generous paid time off, including volunteer time off and paid holidays.
