Under general direction, this position is responsible for all aspects of the physical production of signs. Sign assembly includes preparing substrates and applying vinyl according to written instructions. Must also mount and/or laminate prints including operating and setting-up the laminator for over-laminating or mounting of digital imaged products. This position must proofread signs and conduct quality assurance to ensure the efficient production of quality, accurate signs. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Follow a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium. 2. Prepare substrates for vinyl application. This may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application. 3. Weed excess vinyl from computer cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl and complexity of image. 4. Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards. 5. Perform finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces. 6. Communicate with other employees and customers in a calm and professional manner. 7. Help unload and store raw materials; clean and maintain storage areas. 8. Work on multiple projects simultaneously. 9. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes. Will operate ( brake press, benders, saws, belt sanders, CNC milling centers, and a shear ) in order to fill job orders. Will deburr, blow out all parts, stack and band all finished parts. Will operate and maintain set ups on special purpose machines where operations may involve several progressive machining sequences, and will give instructions on operating procedures. Requires complete knowledge of machine shop operations as acquired by on-the-job training and experience. Operation responsibility includes but are not limited to verifying blueprints, 1st piece inspections, proper measurements, safety of equipment operator is using, accurate count of parts and proper documentation on job orders. The work is repetitive and subject to processes inspection. Position Duties: Reads job order and blueprint specifications. Set up machinery for jobs to run efficiently with all parts checked to blueprint and job order. Operate machinery efficiently while maintaining 1st piece inspection on all parts, all 1st piece inspections are checked to the job order and blueprint. Demonstrate timely communication of needed materials. Responsible for the safety of the equipment he/she is using. Responsible for notifying supervisor of any and all repairs needed. Recognize obvious defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes, faulty workmanship and general quality. Double check job order to finished part. Shall operate in a manner that protects the health and safety of its employees/visitors and operate in a manner that conserves energy, natural resources and protects the environment. + Complete all pertinent paperwork pertaining to the finished product being produced according to established guidelines in the manufacturing procedures. + Prepare and maintain required maintenance equipment records. Use of micrometers, dial calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to perform dimensional and physical inspections. Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. + Uses ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 sampling standard, part drawings, and specifications to determine inspection and testing required as well as acceptable quality levels. + Selects products for inspection evaluation at specified stages in production process, performs various visual, dimensional, performance, mechanical, electrical, or chemical inspections per required characteristics. + Report any unusual circumstances to supervisor and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. + Basic computer skills with windows based programs. + Responsible for the observation of department regulations and to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required; must be safety conscious and Lockout/Tag-out trained. + Transport hazardous waste to accumulation areas. Complete Annual Hazardous Waste (RCRA) refresher training. + Cross-train and support where needed throughout the facility. **_Qualifications_** + High School Diploma or GED preferred. What a Day Looks Like: Bond and masking electronic circuit boards to class 2 and class 3 requirements in accordance with J-STD.
