Under general direction, this position is responsible for all aspects of the physical production of signs. Sign assembly includes preparing substrates and applying vinyl according to written instructions. Must also mount and/or laminate prints including operating and setting-up the laminator for over-laminating or mounting of digital imaged products. This position must proofread signs and conduct quality assurance to ensure the efficient production of quality, accurate signs. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Follow a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium. 2. Prepare substrates for vinyl application. This may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application. 3. Weed excess vinyl from computer cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl and complexity of image. 4. Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards. 5. Perform finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces. 6. Communicate with other employees and customers in a calm and professional manner. 7. Help unload and store raw materials; clean and maintain storage areas. 8. Work on multiple projects simultaneously. 9. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes. Possess a strong sense of organization. Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple workflows and processes is a requirement. Proofing: Prepare sign proofs from existing templates for customer approval. Design signage, recreate logos and vector artwork according to customer specifications utilizing Adobe applications and other design software. When required, interact directly with customers via email, remote, or phone. Work on internal projects as required, for example, SOPs, product redesigns, etc. Work directly with Inside Sales to define product requirements and approve designs. Understand manufacturing process to estimate cost and feasibility. Stay current with internet and software technologies used for creative work. Learn and apply “Lean” tools and initiatives. Assist in the development of best work practices to promote efficiency and accuracy. Assist with special projects as requested. Assist with maintaining artwork files and updated templates. Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production to put together component parts to make assemblies, sub-assemblies or completed units, using standard operating procedures. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. Shift Details Monday - Thursday from 5:00 am to 3:00 pm Job Summary The purpose of this position is to operate, supply, sample and record movement of materials associated with production machinery and ancillary equipment in conformance to FDA, GMP's, ISO13485 standards, and finished product specifications; sample and inspect production, stage material accordingly and report production accuracy; monitor manufacturing process quality to assure that only acceptable materials are released to subsequent production processes. This is accomplished through statistical sampling and inspection which allows detection of changes in product quality so that corrective action is initiated. Clean and maintain work areas within the facility as assigned following standard operating procedures. Responsibilities Analyze product utilizing established test methods and gages and initiate corrective action with supervisor, department technical resources, and quality assurance inspectors. Perform requisite sampling and inspection of product in accordance with established department and plant procedures. Responsible for quality and quantity of production from assigned machines. Monitor machinery and processes during shift and request department technical assistance; make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimum performance of process. Report and track all production data into the appropriate information systems. Must be proficient with all measuring equipment i.e. micrometers, gages, etc. Demonstrate an understanding of the lean system and the ability to control the correct location of associated Kanban tickets. Assist/perform changeovers as required.
