This position requires a time commitment of between 10 and 20 hours per week. What You'll Learn: As a member of both the Communications and Development teams, you will have the opportunity to learn about how Tahirih leverages strategic communications to reach our fundraising goals and see how a national nonprofit organization supports its direct services, training and education, and advocacy work. Over the course of the internship, you will support individual giving, grants, events, digital communications, and marketing, while learning how we ensure external communications are survivor- and client-centered, inclusive, and model cultural humility. You'll have an opportunity to work with and learn from every member of Tahirih's Development and Communications Teams, as well as members of our public policy and client services teams. What You'll Do: Work closely with members of the Development and Communications Team to plan and execute our signature fundraising event, including supporting with graphic design and other content creation, so experience and/or interest in graphic design is a plus. Partner with members of the Development Team to conduct donor outreach and execute stewardship strategies Support active fundraising campaigns Support the posting, tracking, analysis, and reporting of our social media metrics, so familiarity with Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram is a must. Update our website with new content, so knowledge of HTML and WordPress is a plus. Work with subject matter experts and communications staff to draft emails, social media content, web posts, and other types of communications that break down complex topics into accessible and compelling content. Work with the Development and Communications Team to implement activities to help us engage with our audiences and create content for outreach and fundraising campaigns. Assist with other communications and fundraising activities as needed. Compensation: Tahirih pays interns a $5000 stipend for completing 300 hours over the course of the summer (prorated to the number of hours completed).
