Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

As an intern, you will:

Preferred Qualifications

Position Summary:
Job Type: Full-Time Summer Internship
Dates: May 11, 2026 - August 07, 2026
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour.
The Information Technology (IT) Intern will collaborate with the IT team to accomplish the required business transformation projects and cyber-security improvements. The IT Interns will focus on developing and applying IT skills using standard software tools (largely Microsoft-based). The Intern will also have opportunities to install and configure network devices, gather data, and perform data analysis.
Essential Functions:
Develop and maintain software, in collaboration with BWL IT developers.
Configure network devices, in collaboration with BWL IT server and network technicians.
Perform project coordination tasks, in collaboration with BWL IT PMO. Mitigate cybersecurity risks, as directed.
Gather data and perform data analysis, as directed.
Follow defined BWL IT standards and IT industry best practices, as directed.
Utilizes standard office software (i.e., spreadsheet, word-processing, database) and SAP.
Required to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear personal protective equipment for all field work.
Attends training and safety awareness and/or skills improvement as required by the BWL or government agency such as MIOSHA.
Expected to comply with all BWL policies and work rules.
Predictable and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Specifications:
Must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in a program with a focus of Information Technology with junior or senior status during the summer of 2026.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.

About the Team:
The AV Systems, Sensing and Integration Team is responsible for developing, integrating, and validating cutting-edge assisted and automated driving capabilities across the entire vehicle lifecycle. Our organization delivers features end-to-end from early requirements and architectural design through full vehicle integration, calibration, validation, and global program launch. We combine deep expertise in sensor hardware, perception, software features, and vehicle systems engineering to ensure safe, reliable, and customer-delighting driving experiences.
What You Will Do:
We are hiring across multiple engineering and technical disciplines that collaborate and work with cross-functional teams. Opportunities available in systems engineering, technology development, system integration, automation and simulation development.
System Engineering
Define use cases, feature & sensing system requirements, safety goals, performance metrics, and system interactions.
Support system architecture development, including interface definitions and functional modeling.
Collaborate with platform and software teams to integrate hardware and software subsystems.
Prepare acceptance test plans ensuring open loop sensor performance.
Defining dashboards and performing data mining activities and analytics
Develop scripting to automate testing in-vehicle and on benches
Systems Integration and Calibration
Execute functional bring-up and system integration on development vehicles.
Evaluate system interactions across compute platforms, ECUs, sensors, and actuators.
Prepare and execute feature, sensor-level tests, and vehicle-level evaluation.

Develop calibrations both in vehicle and on the bench meet performance and regulatory requirements
Execute performance and validation tests using simulation, bench (HIL/SIL) and on-road fleets.

Use simulation, modeling, and playback to replicate field issues and accelerate development cycles.
Analyze system and sensor data to improve performance, robustness, and validation efficiency.

What We're Looking For:
