At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. Position Summary
The Service Center Engineer - I.A.M. Intern will gain hands-on experience in the areas of Identity Access Management (I.A.M.) and Information Security. This role offers exposure to the tools, processes, and governance practices used to manage digital identities, system access, and security permissions across the organization. Working closely with the IT team, the intern will contribute to access control projects, automation initiatives, and documentation improvements that strengthen the bank's cybersecurity framework.
Primary Accountabilities
Participate in the Access Review Campaign, assisting with analysis, tracking, and reporting.
Support the automation of onboarding and offboarding processes to improve efficiency and compliance.
Help update and improve documentation and workflows for identity and access management operations.
Analyze access patterns and permissions to identify potential anomalies or risks.
Gain hands-on exposure to Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), Access Management (AM), and Privileged Access Management (PAM) systems.
Collaborate with the IT Service Center team to understand and assist with day-to-day I.A.M. functions.
Participate in mentorship sessions focused on security concepts, compliance, and governance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Currently enrolled in an Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field of study.
Strong interest in I.A.M., IT Security, or Service Center operations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams).
Demonstrated initiative and eagerness to learn new technologies.
Internship Details:
Internship duration: Must be available mid-May through late July 2026.
Schedule: Must be available Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (40 hours/week).

Responsibilities
Practice and promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness and spirituality/connectedness by assisting consumers with regaining control over their own lives through self-directed recovery; including utilizing recovery language in all applicable documentation and teaching recovery and using recovery tools such as WRAP.
Model and support consumers in the areas of personal responsibility, self-advocacy and hopefulness, by demonstrating professional and caring attitudes and behaviors.
Provide services identified in treatment/recovery/safety plan that are consumer driven and meet the program requirements, including maintaining a minimum of 65% productivity of available time.
Provide for referral, linkage and advocacy to recommended community resources especially involving natural supports, internal program referrals as well as external services and discharge placements to promote self-sufficiency and independence, when possible.
Promote positive interactions within Chestnut and with the community, especially with substance use, hospital, other medical and managed Medicaid staff, to sustain a favorable program reputation.
Complete required data entry and paperwork in accordance with program and agency policies and procedures, including but not limited to progress notes and any other funder requirements:
80% of progress notes and any other required data entry or paperwork submitted within forty-eight hours of the delivery of the service,
Timely, accurate and thorough shift report completion.
Attend meetings and consumer staffings, participate in programdevelopment activities and provide support and backup to other team members as necessary, including:
Attending and ensuring supporting documentation of 100% of monthly, required Rule 132 supervision if not a LPHA, and
Attending all mandatory Chestnut trainings and CEU requirements if applicable.
Answer in-coming calls and messages, receive and distribute mail, and observe video surveillance equipment where applicable, to resolve all inquiries as indicated.
Work closely with co-workers, supervisor, facility & utility staff and tenant, to ensure a safe & sanitary living environment.
Promote Chestnut's culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut's behavioral standards for customer service.
Maintain and protect confidentiality of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and consumer information.
Provide other duties as assigned, required or specifically negotiated with supervisor.
Qualifications

Enrollment as an upper-level student (completion of three years at a four-year institution) in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Civil Engineering, Environmental Design, or a related degree program requiring an extended internship.
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above.
Minimum of 100 hours of prior related work, internship, or volunteer experience.
Experience with AutoCAD, LandFX, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or GIS software is desired.
Valid driver's license required.
