Program Overview
The FSQA Food Safety Systems Summer Internship is a hands-on, 12-week professional development opportunity designed for students who are passionate about food safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This internship offers real-world exposure to food safety systems within a production environment and plays a meaningful role in strengthening process documentation and operational consistency.
As an FSQA Intern, you'll collaborate with Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and cross-functional operational teams to develop clear Work Instructions, support validation studies, and help embed food safety reminders directly into everyday processes. Your work will directly support regulatory compliance and reinforce a strong food safety culture across operations.
What You'll Experience
Participate in water retention validation studies for parts and whole birds at P2 and P3, including data collection, documentation, and execution support
Assist with FSQA trials, validations, and special projects based on business needs
Support the development, review, and standardization of Work Instructions to ensure clarity, accuracy, and food safety alignment
Collaborate with FSQA and operational leaders to identify opportunities to strengthen food safety awareness and process consistency
Gain hands-on exposure to food safety systems, regulatory expectations, and continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or a related field
Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team environment

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational setting
