About the job:
Kent is looking for a Project Engineer to be based in our Corpus Christi, TX office and support regional project site(s).
The Project Engineer is responsible for delivering all assigned engineering services as agreed, to ensure they are being executed per the contract, established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), regulatory and legal requirements, and responsible for communicating regularly with the client counterparts to develop a relationship that leads to follow-on work.
To be responsible in coordinating the production of engineering deliverables and provides progress reporting for a project in accordance with the project plan. Supports the management of the interfaces between engineering offices, engineering disciplines, project controls, procurement and third-party contractors or suppliers.

Ensure that assigned projects are executed in accordance with Project Procedures (e.g. Project Execution Plan, Engineering Directives), Kent Quality Process, Client Standards, and applicable Industry Codes and Regulatory Requirements.
Clarify and communicate the project scope to Team members. The Project Engineer is the custodian of the work scope and shall work with the Client and the Team to resolve discipline scope queries.
Organize and lead project engineering meetings, ensures participation from the Team.
Ensures that project registers (e.g. needs, actions, risks, etc.) are populated and maintained.
Recognize and proactively resolve Inter-Discipline, Vendor, and Client interface issues to ensure the timely flow of accurate information.
Ensure schedules are developed in accordance with Client expectations and project needs. The Project Engineer shall work with the Team to ensure a correct sequence of work (e.g. predecessor / successor) and key interfaces with the Client and third parties (e.g. data exchange, review cycles) are reflected in the schedule.
Ensure staffing needs for assigned projects are reflected in associated staffing plans.
Monitor project performance and communicate performance and issues as appropriate to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all project reporting requirements - both internal and external - are met.
Ensure project team members execute timely change management with clear communication to both internal interfaces (e.g. internal functions such as engineering, procurement, etc.) and external interfaces (e.g. Client, Vendor).
Ensure proper project documentation is maintained from project initiation to close-out.
Ensure work hour estimates are scope compliant and developed in accordance with the established workshare division of responsibility (DOR) and deliverable / activity norms.
Support field work as needed (RFI, kick off meetings, walk-downs, etc.).
Assist in developing RFQ packages and vendor interfacing and expediting.
Assists in the production of the project execution plan as needed.
Coordinates the interfaces between the Engineering team and the Project Management team and ensures effective transfer of information.
Performs related duties as and when instructed by Direct Supervisor.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. Brownfield Experience. Small Capital and Expense Projects. FEED and Detailed Design Scopes.
Refining / Petrochemical Experience.
USGC (US Gulf Coast) Experience.
Multiple Office Execution / HVEC Experience.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering / Engineering Technology from an ABET Accredited Degree Program.
PE License preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field of study dependent upon business unit requirements with seven (7) years qualified experience; OR,
Two-year Associate's degree in the same required disciplines with nine (9) years of qualified experience (see below).
Two (2) years of experience as a PROJECT MANAGER SENIOR (Grade 8) is preferred, OR demonstrated competencies, knowledge and skillset through achieved results in a shorter timeline.
Qualified experience includes work in project management, major construction field experience, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, and/or comparable internal or external experience in a competitive production environment.
