The Role

Key Responsibilities
Develop test and instrumentation requirements to validate engine performance.
Team leadership to build the test team.
Work with customers to develop test and integration plans.

Required Qualifications
BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related field.

Expertise in CANape or similar CAN environment.
Competency with data analysis tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW).
Experience with test stand design, sensors/instrumentation, data acquisition and data processing practices.
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Military aviation product development, systems integration or test experience.
Experience generating formal test plans and reports in government format(s).
Flight test or flight line operations experience.
Work with engine control systems including FADEC's, ECU's, Starter-Generators, Engine Management Systems (EMS) or related hardware.

Position Summary
Provide quality assurance engineering support to product realization processes (requirements review/planning, design development, procurement and production). Perform quality engineering functional role in material review disposition, communicate and ensure compliance to customer requirements from design to delivery in the aerospace, power supply, PWB, machining and magnetics industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support the maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) and its compliance to AS9100.
Perform audits of specific areas, processes, and procedures including internal QMS audits.
Contract/Purchase Order requirements review and ensuring subsequent compliance.
Evaluate and approve configuration changes.
Provide technical and compliance support to design and production activities to achieve
compliance to customer requirements.
Be able to make decisions (referee) on product conformity issues.
Interface with customers when necessary.
As needed, coordinate outside lab failure analysis toward effective results.
Create First Article Inspection (FAI) plans for upcoming programs.
Responsible for supplier evaluation, monitoring and development.
Meet with suppliers regularly through conferences, Team meetings, and in-person
to handle material, parts, and quality issues.
Periodic on-site visits to evaluate/audit supplier manufacturing sites, and production processes.
Support the maintenance of the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
Support and lead problem solving efforts with suppliers
Review engineering, customer and military specifications and drawings to interpret
requirements.
Support the creation of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Create Control Plans (CP) for high-impact parts. Implement control plans at suppliers.
Create Inspection Plans (IP) from supplier inspection data.
Support, direct, analyze and approve supplier first article parts, and reports (FAIRS/PPAP).
Analyze defect data to identify risks and improvement opportunities. Support project teams to implement risk reductions and improvements.
Lead supplier preventive and corrective action activities including containment, root cause
analysis and corrective action (RCCA).
Complete assigned training.
When called upon, support QA training activities such as: ESD, FOD, and QMS procedures.
As needed, participate in continuous improvement efforts.
Ability to work flexible hours and/or different shifts, as required. Must be able to conform to required schedule. In general, 25% of work time will be spent on the production floor.
Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all Rantec and regulatory requirements
including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.

Education and Experience
BS degree in a technical field desirable.
5 years preferred QA Engineer experience, preferably in an Aerospace design and manufacturing environment.
Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is desirable.
Knowledge of First Article Inspection in accordance with AS9102 is desirable.
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical inspection requirements, including current industry workmanship standards (J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610).
Knowledge and or experience in Xray, CMM, Optical, or Laser measuring equipment a plus
Sound reasoning skills in risk assessment. Able to utilize root cause analysis techniques.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal ability; able to lead discussions and professionally persuade others.
