This individual will operate within the Goal Deployment systems to drive results. This position is highly cross-functional within the management team, and a key position that contributes significant knowledge and influence to the GATX Maintenance Group in order to achieve our defined quality and overall facility goals.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the execution of the quality system at the facility, including all processes to ensure that the cars produced satisfy all given customer, regulatory, and Company requirements. Communicates work area status/activities to the Production Manager(s). Communicates with other work areas to facilitate smooth car flow. Responsible for shift transition between shifts and shift pass down.
Analyze trending data for items such as customer rejects, blue/red tags, audits, etc. and implement containment actions where needed as well as long term corrective actions wherever possible. Be the spokesperson for quality for the facility, developing communication on issues and engagement on corrective action.
Oversee and lead the quality audit process in the facility, including, but not limited to, regulatory audits, internal audits, external audits and process audits, in order to continuously improve all aspects of the quality process. Lead or participate in other facility internal audits.
Be responsible for compliance and site-wide communication for and implementation of all documents pertinent to the quality system. This includes: Quality Procedures, Fleet Maintenance Instructions, Engineering Notices, Improvement Orders, AAR Circular Letters, and Qualification records.
Be a leader on cross-functional teams to evaluate, define, and improve our processes to ensure alignment and achievement of GATX Rail Maintenance Group's Initiatives at the site and network wide.
Serve as the technical liaison for researching, analyzing, and communicating on quality related issues to regulatory bodies and GATX Rail Leasing and Maintenance functions.

Previous supervisory experience required.

SUMMARY
Your role as a Software Engineer on the test team will be critical to the success of Firefly Aerospace Software for use on launch vehicles, spacecraft, and launch facilities. You will use all-digital and hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments to test our Flight and Ground software. This will include testing of software changes where you will act as a formal independent peer reviewer for software changes.
Software Engineers on the test team will also be responsible for developing and executing formal qualification software tests and certification tests including safety-critical testing as required by the U.S. Space Force Launch Facilities and the FAA, for pre and post launch software safety.
You will be part of the Aerospace Software Engineering Group and will work closely with Flight Software, Ground Software, and Software Simulation personnel to provide thorough tests for our software before use on a launch vehicle, spacecraft, or launch site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop test procedures for testing our Ground and Flight Software in all-digital and hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments
Develop software for automating test case execution and report generation
Setup automated testing of daily commits of new Ground and Flight Software and act as a peer reviewer for Merge/Pull Requests
Create unit tests for simulation models, Flight Software, and Ground Software
Adhere to customer test requirements, whether internal or external
Develop and document requirements, designs, plans, and schedules
Provide accurate test development milestones and communicate them to the Group

QUALIFICATIONS

TEST ENGINEER (STARSHIP DEVELOPMENT)
The Development Test team is responsible for testing that supports every major program at SpaceX: Starship, Dragon, Falcon, and Starlink. The majority of the team's current and foreseeable focus is on Starship development. Our engineers specialize in the design and execution of unique tests for engines, components, and spacecraft on an accelerated schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop and execute tests at the engine and component level to evaluate hardware performance and survivability during the mission.

* Operate mechanical systems; these include test stand support structures, heat exchangers, vacuum pumps, tooling, and fluid components such as valves, reliefs, burst disks, tubing, etc.
* Automate repetitive test operations to increase efficiency and safety. Develop innovative processes to increase testing capability and rates, while maintaining high rigor of safety.
* Identify and characterize system pitfalls and potential hazards then work to resolve such anomalies by collaborating with design engineers on improvements for test stands and flight hardware.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or other engineering field
* 1+ years of hands-on testing experience (experience from internships, clubs or other hands-on extra-curricular activities qualifies)
