This person will be the point person responsible for investigating and resolving car issues, customer complaints, and audit exceptions. This position will lead a team of Quality personnel to drive data analysis, investigations, and improvement opportunities. This individual will operate within the Goal Deployment systems to drive results. This position is highly cross-functional within the management team, and a key position that contributes significant knowledge and influence to the GATX Maintenance Group in order to achieve our defined quality and overall facility goals. Responsibilities Lead and manage the execution of the quality system at the facility, including all processes to ensure that the cars produced satisfy all given customer, regulatory, and Company requirements. Communicates work area status/activities to the Production Manager(s). Communicates with other work areas to facilitate smooth car flow. Responsible for shift transition between shifts and shift pass down. Analyze trending data for items such as customer rejects, blue/red tags, audits, etc. and implement containment actions where needed as well as long term corrective actions wherever possible. Oversee and lead the quality audit process in the facility, including, but not limited to, regulatory audits, internal audits, external audits and process audits, in order to continuously improve all aspects of the quality process. This position involves designing, modifying, building, and commissioning high-pressure and cryogenic gas systems used in rocket engine development and test environments.
