Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software applications through meticulous testing and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will play a critical role in identifying bugs, usability issues, and other potential problems before our products are deployed to customers.
Responsibilities
Work with developers to automate the testing of in-sprint tickets. Provide early feedback, identify potential issues, and contribute to the development of testable and maintainable code.
Working with product requirements, write automated tests using Python/Java/.net and deploy those tests as part of the build.
Write flow tests using tools such as Python
Monitor deployments. Work closely with SREs to collect this data and how the application works in “the real world”.
Work closely with feature development engineers, SREs, and business stakeholders. Be a steward for quality in the product from the beginning.
Create automated API to ensure quality of contracts between interfaces and Enterprise UI
Contribute new ideas to improve software practices and processes.
Submit and conduct peer code reviews as part of our DevOps pipeline.
Working with Performance Monitoring Engineers to improve and optimize deployments, working towards high-performing CICD.
Develop and execute test plans and test cases based on product requirements and technical specifications.
Conduct manual testing and use automated testing tools to identify and report issues.
Collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth product launches and deployments.
Perform regression testing to ensure that previously identified and resolved defects do not reoccur.
Document test results and create detailed bug reports.
Participate in design and code reviews to provide input on testability and quality aspects of the product.
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
Strong understanding of abstraction and ability to scale testing frameworks to cover base use cases with the ability to customize for brand-specific properties.
Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms and security best practices.
Familiarity with modern build pipelines and tools.
Comfortable in Google Cloud Platform, reading and consuming logs, and setting up dashboards in Grafana.
Track record of improving KPIs such as MTTR, escaped defect rate, test coverage, automation test execution time, and test effectiveness.
Proven experience as a QA Engineer, QA Tester, or similar role in software development
Solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

Strong knowledge of version control systems, particularly Gitlab.

Role Purpose

Ensure the reporting of certain events 01' situations and incidents are in an orderly and uniform manner facilitates in order to identify trends, whether within a facility or class of facilities, by one or more agencies, or on a statewide basis, which ultimately allows for the development and implementation of preventive strategies.

Qualifications
Possesses a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program and or at least a minimum of 6 years of related work experience - developmental disabilities, human services, or behavioral health settings.
A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 of required experience.

Summary
HII-Mission Technologies is looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Quality Assurance Engineer for their Syracuse, NY Operations. This position will have responsibility for the alignment of process & product quality for multiple programs, including but not limited to hardware, software, and sourcing/supply chain. Their efforts will be used to analyze program and quality process performance, identify adverse trends, understand/identify risks, and drive effective corrective action as well as overall process improvements.
What You Will Do
* Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures.
* Ensure hardware, software and sourcing/supply chain quality standards are compliant with program requirements
* Develop and implement Quality processes and procedures.
* Support First Article and In-Process Inspections
* Support Product Quality investigations and initiatives
* Identify, communicate, investigate, track, and provide status and solutions for any deviations/non-conformances affecting product or processes at different levels within the organization.
* Manage and track Corrective Action Requests (CARs), including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
* Identify root causes and associated corrective actions, evaluate process/product performance.
* Interact with Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and DCMA.
* Perform supplier and internal quality audits to verify compliance with quality standards.
* Support incoming and pre-shipment inspections.
What We Are Looking For: Minimum Qualifications
* 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
* Basic understanding in process documentation, workflow definition, and analyzing gaps
* Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction
* Ability to work both in a team and individually
* Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
Preferred: Bonus Points For
* IPC610/J-STD-001/IPC620 experience preferred
* Lean & Six Sigma Green Belt recommended (Black Belt preferred)
* 3-5 years of work experience in a DOD environment.
* Background in ISO 9001/AS9100.
* AS9102 FAI experience.
