This position runs Monday - Friday, with the following shifts: 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM QUALIFICATIONS: Quality Control Technician: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Certification in quality control is preferred. Must have food manufacturing experience. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role. Excellent knowledge of MS Office. Good math, technical, and communication skills. Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Quality Control Technician: Perform thorough inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products to check for defects, non-conformities, and deviations from quality standards. Work closely with production teams to ensure that manufacturing processes are in compliance with quality standards and are carried out correctly. Inspect finished produced goods to ensure their quality and adherence are up to specifications. Keep detailed records of inspections, testing results, and any deviations from the quality standards up-to-date and maintained. Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations. Collect and take samples of production batch to ensure products are meeting standards. Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggestions on changes to enhance efficiency and product quality. Ensure that inspection and testing equipment are regularly calibrated to maintain accuracy and reliability. Investigate the root causes of quality issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to prevent future occurrences. Conduct internal audits of manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards and regulations. Maintain open and effective communication with production staff, quality assurance teams, and management to ensure everyone is aligned on quality goals and expectations. Prioritize safety in the manufacturing environment, ensuring that quality control activities are carried out safely and in accordance with safety protocols. Other duties as assigned. General Description Inspects molded and assembled product or parts for work quality, dimensional accuracy, conformance to drawings, internal specifications, and customer-supplied specifications using precision measuring and testing instruments and equipment. This individual is required to handle the day-to-day shift inspections and all measurement tools. Duties and Responsibilities Reads inspection logs and quality plans to determine mature and sequence inspection. Perform basic functions such as locating part specific programming, following fixturing outlines, and taking basic digital readout measures Reviews blueprints and product quality plans to locate critical dimensions and cosmetic criteria used during inspection. Inspects molded parts and assemblies during all phases of fabrication and assembly to ensure adherence to cosmetic and dimensional specifications. Measures parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments, templates, jigs, and fixtures. Accepts or rejects parts and assemblies, prepares documentation to record inspection results, and segregates unacceptable products. Confers with production and other personnel to coordinate the inspection process and to discuss inspection results. Inspects packaging of product to determine compliance with internal packaging instructions Inspects purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and devices. Examines items for defects in materials, workmanship, and damage occurring in transit. Accepts or rejects purchased product, prepares documentation to record inspection results, and segregates unacceptable products. May prepare inspection procedure outlines for reference use in subsequent inspections using data obtained from blueprints, customer specifications, and catalogs. Assists machine operators in determining product quality conformance. Trains new and existing machine operators on operator tasks and product quality specific to each production item. Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Provides information and suggestions for improvement of product, processes, and the quality management system. May occasionally perform the duties of machine operator as directed by supervisor. All other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements General: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience with hand tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages, and similar) required. Understanding of basic blueprint reading required. Experience with injection molding or plastics required. ASQ certification is a plus. Language Skills: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to all employees of the organization. Ability to comprehend and comply with written and verbal procedures, instructions, and assignments. Ability to deal with situations involving several variables in standard manufacturing conditions. Ability to actively participate in group problem solving activities. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use ratios and percents. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
