It will leverage one's skill and experience to set an example for others to learn from and live up to. The Certified Welding Inspector reports to the Quality Department Manager and works in partnership with Production Department personnel and Project Managers. The successful candidate will get in front of quality issues by identifying them before they become a problem and maintain direct/ ensure the company's welding program in accordance with AWS/SNT-TC-1A. Responsibilities: Implement and report on welding and NDT inspection processes Review and understand SOWs and Mil-Specs in order to ensure compliance Train, certify, qualify, and monitor welders/inspectors to have 100% accountability of status Quantitatively assess welding performance company-wide Perform in-house calibration of welding equipment Maintain calibration records and labels for welding equipment and maintain schedule/ tracking Complete and maintain quality department reporting and documentation Monitor and maintain welding certifications and related documentation Provide welding expertise for nonconformance/corrective action investigation Requirements: AWS Certified Welding Inspector Knowledge of MIL-standards and international standards NDT Level II: visual testing, magnetic particle, and penetrant testing Ability to understand structural steel plans and technical specifications Proficiency with weld inspection methods and tools Ability to complete and communicate daily work reports Beginner to intermediate skills with Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Willingness to develop skill sets as needed through training/certification programs Experience: 2-5 years of experience in quality related to welding Proven leadership experience in a quality environment a plus Why work for Sea Box?
