Investigate and analyze the root causes of non-conformities and defects, working closely with the production team to implement corrective and preventive actions. Provide guidance and training to production personnel on quality standards, best practices, and quality control procedures. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with engineering/production to implement quality enhancements and optimize processes. Ensure that all quality inspections are performed safely and in compliance with company safety protocols. Inspects repairs and modification of aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty. + Plans, conducts, and supervises aircraft technical inspections. + Develops and implements quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications. + Evaluates personnel, including verification of skills, training and experience. + Performs audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment and facilities. + Examines parts and components for conformance to design specification to determine serviceability; serviceable, unserviceable-reparable, unserviceable-non reparable, affixing completed appropriate form/tag for disposition; return to stock, route to appropriate shop for repair and/or turn-in. Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for managing the quality functions of internal Aircraft Maintenance operations. The Quality Assurance Inspector establishes quality standards, practices, policies and procedures. He/she is responsible for the training, deployment of quality practices, and monitoring quality consistency throughout the department. The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for the overall operation of the Inspection Department and will have the final authority in the releasing to service of airframes, engines, appliances and the component parts thereof. In addition, he/she is responsible for directing, planning, and laying out the details of inspection standards, methods, and procedures in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer's specifications and recommendations. The Quality Assurance Inspector shall hold a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate under 14 CFR §65 and Inspector Authorization. PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS STATEMENT In the performance of your respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to confirm to the following: Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and service agencies. TRAINING/SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES REQUIRED Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner. RESPONSBILITIES/DUTIES Performs the Self-Evaluation Processes. Promotes aviation safety by ensuring airworthy and quality aircraft maintenance. Assure that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work and that the proper inspection records, reports, and forms used by the repair station are completed and executed prior to releasing the product for return to service. Determine that all technical data on articles overhauled or repaired by the repair station are kept current with latest revisions. This data includes manufacturer's overhaul manuals, service bulletins, part specifications, related FAA approved data, and other technical data used by the repair station. Assure that periodic checks are made on all inspection tools and the calibration of precision equipment used by the repair station and technicians who keep their own precision equipment. Further assure that current records of those inspections and tests are maintained. Determine that no defective, unserviceable, or unairworthy parts are installed in any component or article released by the repair station. Submit reports of defects or unairworthy condition in accordance with 14CFR §145.221. Assure the proper execution of a maintenance release and/or FAA Form 337 when required. Guide the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts, supplies, and the airworthiness of articles on which work has been performed outside the repair station. Guide the preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspections of all articles maintained by the repair station and the recording of results of such inspections. Guide the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in this manual. See that unairworthy parts are segregated and quarantined in such a way as to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts. Assure that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is approved for return to service, and that the proper inspection and maintenance records, reports and forms required for each release are properly executed. Assure that the proper inspection records, reports, and forms used by the repair station are available to all inspection personnel. Maintain and keep current a regulatory library including federal aviation regulations, type certificate data sheets, and FAA published airworthiness directives. Compile completed work orders and inspection forms in such a manner that once filed information pertaining to a specific item can by readily located for review. Assure that the responsible technicians properly execute complete entries on forms and work orders used by the repair station. Assure that procedures used in procurement and reception of aircraft parts will guard against "bogus" and "unapproved" parts from entering the parts system and to ensure that any such parts are detected before their use. Ensure that any maintenance performed for 14 CFR 121, 125, 129 or 135 Carriers under a Continuous Airworthiness Program per 14 CFR 145.1 through 145.205 is accomplished in accordance with that Carriers manual and that all required inspection items are inspected by RII inspectors, not performing the work. Ensure each air carrier's RII procedure is followed and that inspectors assigned RII responsibilities for the air carrier are properly qualified, trained and authorized Ensure that all regulations are followed as it relates to Contract Maintenance IAW 14 CFR 145.209 (h) & 145.217. Ensure that proper entries are made into maintenance logs & work orders IAW 14 CFR Part 43 and Operator/Air Carrier manuals. Has the authority to de-certify a maintenance function if the applicable 14 CFR and/or company requirements is not being complied with. Recommends, as required, individuals for Repairman's Certificate. Administers the Repair Station Training Program and maintains the Technician's Training Records. Controls the Inspection Roster. Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to): Complete daily pre-Operational (pre-op) sanitation plant inspections, environmental swabbing, and paperwork for the interior and exterior of the plant, communicate corrective actions to the Operations team leadership immediately, and verify the assigned corrective actions were done in the agreed-upon timeframe Complete cooler checks and associated paperwork twice per day and report any deviations immediately Sample and grade raw whole squid during processing and boat unloading against specifications, such as external quality, internal quality, appearance, aroma, texture, count per pound, weight, length, width, and others as needed Upload photographs of raw whole squid samples, enter all quality data to assigned computer location, and report results to assigned individuals the same day as the evaluation Conduct daily calibration accuracy checks for equipment such as thermometers and scales and report any deviations immediately Perform quality control assessments of prepared calamari products against specifications, such as appearance, aroma, texture, taste, count per pound, net weight, glaze percent, size, and defects Upload photographs of prepared calamari samples, enter all quality data to assigned computer location, and report results to assigned individuals the same day as the evaluation Check in-line samples and rework against specifications and report status to Operations immediately Fulfill sales samples requests by picking orders, packing them appropriately for the product and outside temperature, and arranging shipping and pick-up as needed Clean and sanitize work stations to standard regularly Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements Ideal candidate will have: Associates degree in a science curriculum or work equivalent Prior experience in a quality control role, food industry experience preferred.
