Actively involved in new component sourcing and development
Component drawing review and approval
Involved in the Team Feasibility Commitment process with Purchasing, Engineering and Suppliers
Involved in control level definition for PPAP package together with Project Buyer and Engineering
Owner of Supplier Quality Project supporting APQP
Define the Supplier Quality Project tasks with the suppliers
Follow up completion of Supplier Quality Project tasks in terms of timing and quality for defined deliverables for PPAP approval
Participate in supplier production trial runs and Run at Rate per control level definition
Perform audits and PFMEA go and see as applicable for new projects
Define the Incoming Inspection / Delivery Approval Requirement template and manage the Interim Inspection Plan at the supplier as applicable
Owner of component PPAP approval
Escalate Supplier Quality Project delays / deviations according to internally defined standards
Actively connected with Autoliv Production Development System project teams
Provide guidance to supplier deployment of Autoliv Supplier Manual (ASM)
Support other divisions in terms of supplier on-site project activities when requested
Support requests for on-site supplier activities from Commodity Supplier Quality and Purchasing team members
Participate in rating for Supplier Quality Project and responsiveness performance
Ensures that root-cause analysis and corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and documentation is compliant with requirements.
Ensure that Annual Layout inspection reports are uploaded in the ALV system for their assigned suppliers
Owner of NCM 8D from D4 to closure
Provide Lessons Learned approach by carrying over knowledge and experience to new parts/suppliers

Overview

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $145,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for problem solving and continuous improvement projects within the value stream.
The position reports to the Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering and is part of the Engineering Department located in Logan, Utah and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
Actively engage and support engineering priorities in response to manufacturing and plant priorities related to safety, quality, production, and cost/efficiency
Develop, lead or participate in various process improvement projects. Drive continuous improvement (LEAN) initiatives through application of sound engineering/reliability program elements and a data driven approach
Design, install, validate, and qualify new equipment to address key gaps in manufacturing and ensure that engineering support is performed in compliance with cGMP Regulations and Company Policies/Procedures.
Develop and assist in process and product monitoring, including creation and execution of validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) and Engineering reports
Identify, analyze, and drive technical issues to resolution (i.e., Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone, 5-Why's) and completing CAPAs
Who you are
Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or equivalent experience
4+ years of engineering experience
Thrives within a cross-functional team environment with excellent verbal and written communication
Proven ability to apply strong fundamental scientific and engineering skills to evaluate and develop processes and offer practical solutions to technical challenges
Proficient in statistical data analysis, DOE, and lean manufacturing concepts.

Key Responsibilities:
Work with multiple teams of Software Engineers to:
Maintain and develop JUnit and Jasmine + Karma testing platforms
Perform test case peer reviews to ensure adherence to testing standards
Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for SQL, Java, and Angular systems.
Perform functional,regression, and integration testing both manually and using JUnit and Jasmine + Karma testing frameworks
Validate that system modifications meet documented requirements and comply with Air Force standards, security protocols, and operational needs.
Document test results, track defects, and coordinate with development teams on issues.
Collaborate with others to clarify functionality and ensure smooth deployment of updates.

Participate in post-implementation reviews.
Required Skills and Education:
Bachelor's degree;or equivalent combination of education and experience
Expertise with Java EE, specifically Spring and JUnit
Expertise with Angular 15+, specifically using Jasmine + Karma
Expertise with Oracle SQL or Postgres SQL
Experience in software testing, preferably in a DoD or government environment
