Required Skills (Technical Competency):

• 8+ years of experience as materials engineer in aerospace or gas turbine industry manufacturing, quality systems and field support.
• Bachelor/Master of Science in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy
• Experience with primary processing (powder metallurgy, isothermal forge, & heat treatment) of turbomacinery materials.
• In depth understanding of metallurgy, manufacturing processes and inspections such as primary melting, forging, heat treatment used in the Aerospace industry.
• In depth understanding of the supply chain
• Some expertise in Additive Manufacturing processes and technologies will be preferential;
• Broad knowledge about different materials (metallic, ceramic, composite, polymeric etc) and experience on characterization tests;
• laboratory operations experience (knowledge of procedures, equipments etc);
• Finite Elements Analysis background (knowledge of ANSYS tool advantageous but not mandatory)
• Knowledge about coating / surface treatments processes advantageous but not mandatory
• Good computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) Project Management experience is desired, but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

What You Will Do
Assure processes, equipment, fixture design, routings, programming, tooling, and standard work in support of production requirements. Manufacturing Design Engineer
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Design Engineer to support a growing production operation that is expanding more engineering and tooling work in-house. This role plays a critical part in designing molds, precast shapes, and production-related tooling while partnering closely with fabrication, quality, and production teams to improve efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
This position is design-forward and ideal for someone who enjoys seeing their work move from concept to the shop floor. While the role interfaces with CNC equipment (foam cutters/Routers), CNC programming experience can be trained; strong design fundamentals and manufacturing understanding are the priority.
Key Responsibilities
Design molds, precast shapes, and related components using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred; similar platforms considered)
Convert customer drawings and specifications into manufacturable designs and production-ready models
Create packaging and support drawings to assist downstream production and shipping
Collaborate with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and safe to manufacture
Support implementation of designs into CNC processes (wire cutters, foam cutters, routers); training available as needed
Participate in quality reviews and inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
Assist engineering leadership with estimating labor, materials, and setup considerations related to mold and tooling work
Support continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, efficiency, and output
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, and maintenance
Maintain organized workspaces and follow all safety standards and company policies
Operate basic shop equipment and material handling equipment as required
