Full-time Description A Quality Control Technician II is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet the established standards set by the company. Duties include maintaining strong overall quality control of products made by the company adhering to reliability, performance, and customer expectation. Program background The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country - a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The first phase of the Gateway Program includes the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), which includes the construction of a new two-track tunnel under the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York as well as the full rehabilitation of the existing 110-year-old North River Tunnel. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC), established through bi-state legislation, is responsible for the financing and development of the Hudson Tunnel Project. As a tri-venture partner with Parsons, Arcadis, and Mace (MPA) is the Delivery Partners (DP)to provide advice, leadership, and support to GDC for the development and implementation of HTP. This is a master service with task order contracts for a 15-year contract encompassing a broad range of strategic advisory services, project management, design management, construction management, stakeholder coordination, federal compliance, operations support, office administration, and related services. What You'll Be Doing: * Conduct daily inspections of construction activities, including excavation, concrete work, tunnel lining, utilities, and other structural elements * Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship meet project specifications and approved submittals. * Prepare quality inspection reports * Collaborate with safety teams to ensure that inspections align with health, safety, and environmental regulations. * Coordinate independent testing. * Coordinate contractor, subs and stakeholder field operations. * Enforce safety standards on-site, including adherence to OSHA and other regulatory safety protocols. * Identify potential safety hazards, report violations, and ensure contractors follow site-specific safety plans, especially around large shafts and excavation zones. * Inspect materials and equipment used for excavation and tunneling, checking for compliance with quality standards. * Document and report any deviations or deficiencies, working closely with contractors to address issues promptly to ensure quality throughout the project. * Maintain detailed records of daily work activities, site conditions, and inspection results. * Provide regular reports on progress, any issues encountered, and corrective actions taken, ensuring documentation aligns with project requirements. * Work closely with construction supervisors and engineers to address any concerns that arise during inspection. * Communicate inspection findings and collaborate on solutions to on-site issues, such as unexpected ground conditions or equipment adjustments. Job Description The Quality INSEPCTOR position will be responsible for inspection of all incoming raw materials and finished products. Tasks will require use of calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparator, drawing comparisons and other inspection tools - candidate MUST have experience with relevant equiptment. Report, analyze and trend quality data (i.e. non-conforming material and inspection results). Work directly with suppliers to address quality concerns and assess performance.
