Explain procedures to patients and addresses their concerns. Utilizes ALARA principals and appropriate infection control techniques to ensure a safe work environment. 25. Appropriately maintains exam rooms, supplies and equipment according to performance standards. Maintains area supplies and reports equipment malfunctions. Under general supervision of the Director or Diagnostic Imaging, this position is responsible for scanning and producing a variety of computerized tomography examinations for physician interpretation and diagnosis of injury and/or disease for all patient ages. Assists the Radiologist with all diagnostic and interventional procedures. Performs related clerical and service duties and assists with other departments as needed. I. Major Responsibilities: 1. Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols. 2. Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records. 3. Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly. 4. Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams. 5. Promptly and properly completes exams, performs QC on images and appropriately sends exams to PACS for the physicians to review. 6. Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory and in arranging the purchase of needed supplies. 7. Assists with other job-related duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling. 8. Under the direction of a Radiologist or Emergency Room Physician, performs CT exams using contrast media according to department policy and procedures. 9.
