Reinke Irrigation company history timeline

1954

Richard Reinke formed Reinke Manufacturing Company, Inc. in 1954 on the family farm in Deshler, Nebraska.

1959

By 1959, an Australian company had modified the basic Valley approach and produced a center pivot system called the Grasslands.

1967

In 1967 he incorporated under the name Reinke Manufacturing Company.

1968

Since 1968, the first Electrogator ever built continues to grow a crop every year near Deshler, Nebraska – serving as a testament to the durability of Richard Reinke’s design.

In addition, Reinke will provide a single tower display from its 1968 Reinke Pivot System No.

1969

In 1969, he and his two sons Dave and Jim decided they could improve on the other center pivot designs by using hydraulic motors on each tower.

1974

The company grew fast, and in 1974 the Zimmerers sold out to DeKalb AgResearch.

1976

The first installation, however, wasn’t till December of 1976, on a garage.

1977

The first house was shingled in February of 1977.

1981

In 1981 they sold this division out of the Company, to Richard Reinke.

1988

Finally in 1988, the company again went independent through an over-the-counter stock offering.

1992

Richard Reinke who still held a note for part of the business, contacted all entities involved and bought up the pieces, including the Reinke Shakes name, and once again owned Reinke Shakes in 1992.

1993

Richard’s youngest son, Robert began managing the business in 1993.

2003

He was soon promoted to President of Reinke Shakes Inc., an office he held until after his father’s death in February 2003.

Richard Reinke died in 2003 at the age of 80, but his company is still operating in Deshler.
