The Ammo R&D Intern is responsible for testing and development of ammunition products using industry standard equipment and creating well written reports in the execution of advanced test plans. The Summer Science Program hosts a lecture series for participants highlighting elements of biomedical research including research methodology, introductions to academic pediatrics, and sessions exploring post-graduate educational pathways such as graduate school, medical school and other post-baccalaureate training. Student scholars will present the findings of their research projects to other program participants, mentors, and the Arkansas Children's research community at the conclusion of the program.
The Summer Science Program offers valuable experience for college students interested in pursuing post-graduate training in biomedical sciences through an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. program. A competitive stipend is offered to program participants. Limited housing is available, but the costs are not included in stipend support.

Join Southwest Power Pool (SPP) this summer as an IT Intern and gain hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining the security architecture for IT systems. You'll work with a variety of IT subject matter experts to help design, implement, and support cybersecurity controls and solutions-both technology- and process-based-ensuring the protection and security of SPP's information system assets.
As an IAM Intern, you'll assist with the design, development, implementation, and management of identity and access management processes and systems that align with SPP's enterprise-wide security and governance strategy. What You'll Do

Position Summary:
The Ammo R&D Intern is responsible for testing and development of ammunition products using industry standard equipment and creating well written reports in the execution of advanced test plans. This is an entry level position to develop and test ammunition in accordance with company standards. The Intern will collaborate with Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineering, Production and Quality on new product development. This includes product design, data collection, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, as well as workplace organization and safety.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the design of new ammunition components and cartridges.
Handload various ammunition for test and evaluation.
Directly assists in Engineering and Production testing of new products.
Provides efficient and effective planning and performance of routine and non-routine mechanical inspection using pre-determined methods for product acceptability.
Provide assistance in the development of fixtures and gauges.
Perform ammunition testing to ensure compliance with all Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturing Institute (SAAMI) standards for ammunition manufacturing following approved testing protocols for all key performance data including (but not limited to) - Pressure, Velocity, Accuracy, and Primer Sensitivity.
Safely and effectively operates test equipment according to manuals, work instructions, or industry standards.
Follows moderately complex test plans to execute testing of ammunition as assigned.
Document raw test data and creates comprehensive written test reports to SIG SAUER INC standards as assigned.
Analyze test data to provide periodic, accurate test status reports to Management as assigned with minimal support.
Participate in analytic groups for driving to the root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to the prevention of customer escapes.
Must be able to infrequently work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends or holidays based on customer demands or to support organizational goals.
Maintain range certification while always handling and shooting firearms in accordance with SIG SAUER INC policy.
