Job Description
The Market Research and Insights Sr. Analyst plays a critical role in driving evidence-based decision-making through robust primary market research and actionable insights. This individual will lead the end-to-end execution of qualitative and quantitative primary research projects to inform marketing strategies, assess promotional effectiveness, and shape brand positioning. While the primary focus of this role is primary market research, the position also involves integrating secondary data analytics to strengthen insights and business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
Lead Primary Market Research:
Support the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research projects, collaborating on study design, coordinating with external partners, assisting with fieldwork monitoring, and contributing to data analysis and insight development.
Research Solution Development:
Responsible for collaborating on the developing the research approach and selection of external research partners. Assist in drafting research instruments that address key business questions and support clarity, flow, and data integrity.
Data Analysis:
Analyze raw data using Excel and cross-tabulations to uncover patterns, drivers, and actionable insights. Perform and oversee open-ended survey question analysis.
Reporting and Storytelling:
Create visually compelling PowerPoint reports that highlight key findings, write strong headlines for slides, and clearly connect insights to business implications. Translate complex data into simple, impactful narratives that drive strategic decisions
Vendor Management:

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Advanced degrees in Business, Marketing Research, Economics, Statistics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology or other Social Science-related discipline is a plus.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience conducting primary market research (qualitative and quantitative).
At least 2 years in a supplier-side or market research agency environment preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience designing & executing analyses, as well as delivering insights related to one or more of the following:

Job Duties: Interns will gain hands-on experience working on various conservation research projects at the North Carolina Aquariums lab at the NCSU Center for Marine Sciences and Technology in Morehead City, NC. Because we have a variety of ongoing projects, students would have some choices of research
projects. Our aim is to offer a wide range of experiences, including field work in coastal habitats, with a diversity of conservation projects.
Major Task to be Performed:
Research will be conducted under the daily supervision of Dr. Carol Price, the conservation research coordinator. One of the largest projects students will work on is Spot A Shark USA (SAS). The student working with SAS will learn how to process sand tiger shark images that are uploaded by citizen scientists
using an image analysis software. The spots on the sides of the sharks are digitally mapped, resulting in a library of uniquely identified individuals. This collective database of sharks is being used to understand how sand tiger sharks use the shipwreck habitats off the North Carolina coast. Other projects include headstarting the Carolina gopher frog (a native species of frog with highly decreased population being considered for listing under the Endangered Species Act) for release back into ponds in the Croatan National Forest, and
monitoring Crystal skipper (an endemic butterfly) populations on the barrier island. Additional opportunities may be developed that align with Aquarium needs and intern interests or skills.
Final Product or Outcome Anticipated: Interns will gain experience with methods for conducting research, data management, research software, data analysis, report writing, scientific communication and project organization

**Main Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain thorough documentation of procedures and up-to-date records.
+ Perform histology laboratory work including embedding, sectioning, and immunohistochemical staining as directed.
+ Work with different biological samples originating from neurodegenerative rodent models.
+ Demonstrate a basic knowledge of immunohistochemistry: understanding of different antibodies used for labeling specific proteins.
+ Work with standard histological equipment such as cryostats; microtomes, embedding station, microscopes, and digital slide scanner.
+ Support and assist across teams within PGI for reagent prep, solution transfers, and QCing of samples for shipments.
+ Coordinate and execute studies by creating protocols using SOPs and maintaining datasheets to ensure optimal sample processing following study plans.
+ Create purchase orders and maintain detailed Wet Lab, Freezer, and refrigerator inventory, ensuring databases are up to date.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Neuroscience, or related field.
+ 1-2 years of relevant experience in histology laboratory work.
+ Demonstrated laboratory experience including paraffin sectioning, frozen sectioning, and basic solution preparation.
+ Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
+ Able to work well in a group atmosphere, as well as independently.
+ High level of commitment, excellent motivation to perform and to learn.
+ Able to comprehend and comply with all SOPs, and to follow safety and quality assurance protocols, as well as question and /or report any deviations to study protocols.
+ Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and to pick up new skills quickly.
