Summary of Position The Principal Scientist is a technical and strategic leader responsible for method development, qualification, transfer, and lifecycle management of residual impurity assays for biopharmaceutical products including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), bispecifics, and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). The Principal Scientist will supervise and mentor team members while serving as a subject matter expert in residual impurity testing across Biopharmaceutical Development (BPD) and CMC teams. Responsibilities and Job Duties: Lead the development of fit-for-purpose and robust residual impurity assays (e.g., HCP, DNA, Protein, Enzyme, Surfactant etc.) to support biologic product development and release. Provide technical leadership and hands‑on troubleshooting for analytical methods and instrumentation to resolve issues efficiently and maintain method robustness. Own and drive method lifecycle activities including development, qualification, transfer to QC, and support method validation aligned with ICH and regulatory expectations. Ensure on‑time delivery of analytical method development and testing support for process development, process characterization, analytical comparability, and CQA assessment efforts. Manage project timelines for impurity analysis and proactively communicate risks, progress, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders. Collaborate with CMC teams and Regulatory Affairs to develop residual impurity control strategies, specifications, and regulatory submissions. Manage vendor activities and oversee outsourced work including critical reagents, HCP coverage analysis, and CRO support. Lead implementation of new technologies and data‑driven approaches to improve throughput and sensitivity of impurity assays. Author and/or review SOPs, technical protocols and reports, and regulatory filings. Foster a high‑performance culture by coaching and mentoring scientists, promoting scientific excellence, accountability, and ownership. Present findings and strategies at internal cross‑functional meetings, technical forums, and external conferences. Participate in industry consortia on relevant topics and align internal strategies with industry practice. We are seeking a Research Technologist who will Perform laboratory tasks and complete routine assays following common or established protocols and procedures. Under the general supervision of a faculty investigator or laboratory member, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing transgenic fly and mosquito colonies, as well as performing routine laboratory management responsibilities. The candidate will also assist post-doctoral fellows and graduate students in the implementation of experiments related to insect and chemosensory neuroscience. General Focus of Research Group The goal of the Potter laboratory is to understand how the insect brain receives, interprets, and responds to odors. The lab is interested in understanding at the neuronal level how odors regulate insect behaviors. The long-term aim of the group is to apply the research gained to better control insects that pose a threat to human health. The general approach of the lab towards achieving this goal is to develop and employ genetic methods that enable unprecedented control over neural circuits in both the model organism Drosophila melanogaster (fruitfly) and human vector Anopheles gambiae (mosquito). We are seeking a proficient Research Specialist with a sophisticated understanding of specific, advanced techniques and a solid foundation in the underlying science, gained from professional experience. Works independently and manages daily research projects. The research specialist participates in planning experiments and evaluating/interpreting test results utilizing detailed knowledge of research laboratory procedures and practices. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Performs cell culture and processes biofluids and tissues from human donors and animal models. Performs fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC)-based size separation to obtain proteins and protein complexes, confirming identity of selected isolated proteins. Isolates RNA, performs quality control, and prepares RNA sequencing libraries using methods including advanced, ligation-free preparations. Separation and characterization of extracellular vesicles. Assists with analysis and graphical representation of RNA-seq data. Troubleshoots and optimizes techniques based on scientific knowledge and research experience. Liaises with bioinformatics collaborators. Follows established procedures or protocols and utilizes aseptic and RNase-free technique to perform laboratory tests and/or experiments which include conventional and real-time PCR, electrophoretic separations (agarose and acrylamide gels), Western blot, ELISA, cloning and/or subcloning, extracellular vesicle isolation and characterization, electron microscopy, nanoparticle tracking analysis, resistive pulse sensing, flow cytometry, and other molecular and cellular biology techniques.
