Under the direction of the Safety Manager, the Field Safety Specialist is responsible for delivering hands-on safety support, oversight, and guidance at customer job sites and field locations. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements by conducting jobsite audits, participating in customer meetings, and ensuring field-level execution of safety procedures. The Field Safety Specialist provides expertise during high-risk activities such as confined space entry, hot work, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and supports large-scale projects with shift safety coverage as needed. This role is also responsible for supporting and conducting incident investigations at customer sites, ensuring timely documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up. In addition, the Field Safety Specialist develops Site Safety Execution Plans, attends customer audits, and drives continuous improvement in field safety operations through collaboration with project and site leads.
Essential Duties
Responsible for ensuring compliance with company, client, OSHA, and other applicable standards during contracted field jobs by providing field safety oversight, conducting jobsite safety meetings and walk-throughs, reviewing documentation (JSAs, permits, etc.), and completing field safety reporting.
Assumes responsibility for monitoring company and customer safety programs and inspections during field jobs and projects, and assists the Safety Department in developing, maintaining, and executing Site Safety Execution Plans and field-specific procedures.
Must be able to travel regularly to customer sites, which includes meeting all customer-specific requirements such as background checks, drug and alcohol screenings, site orientations, and adherence to site-specific safety protocols.
Creates and maintains a field visitation schedule for STOs, embedded sites, large-scale projects, and general jobs, and represents the company by attending customer and project safety meetings and participating in customer-driven audits.
Responsible for assisting the Safety Department in conducting and supporting incident investigations at customer sites, including documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Collaborates with project and site leads to evaluate and improve field processes, and challenges existing procedures when safer or more efficient alternatives are identified.
Responsible for driving an exceptional safety culture by encouraging and demonstrating safe behaviors.
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with little supervision.
Available to work overtime and answer after-hours emergency phone calls.
Duties and Responsibilities can change from time to time based on business needs, customer demands or other industry or job-related circumstances

Education and/or Work Experience-
High School (Minimum or Equivalent)
OSHA 30 Certification, TWIC, and First Aid/CPR/AED required prior to hire
Any EHS-related certifications, Associates degree, and/or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Ergonomics, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety-related discipline preferred but not mandatory
Minimum of 5 years of experience providing safety representation or EHS auditing in the field, preferably with an industrial service provider or industrial contractor

Ensure the implementation and management of Ergonomic, Sustainability and Continuous Improvement programs to boost the EHS culture.
Manage the By Product Management Program to assure the right disposition of all by products (waste materials).
Ensure legal and corporate requirement compliance when opening/closing a plant.
