School Operations Position Description
United operations positions are integral to the smooth inner workings of our schools. These positions address all non-instructional tasks in our schools that allow teachers to focus on teaching and students to focus on learning. School operations staff members need to be problem-solvers, quick thinkers, detail-oriented, personable, and comfortable with juggling multiple priorities while working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
Holds a B.A./B.S. degree (strongly preferred).

Gilmour Academy is seeking qualified experienced school bus drivers to safely transport students from Gilmour Academy to designated locations for sport athletic trips, field trips, community service trips, and retreats. Qualified candidates are responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous transportation of students according to the rules and regulations of the State of Ohio Highway Patrol, The Ohio Department of Education Pre-Service School Bus Driver Training Program, and Gilmour Academy.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must be at least 21 years of age; possess a valid Ohio driver license Class B or A CDL 26001 GVW with air brakes, endorsements P-passenger, S-school bus, and must have a current pre-service school bus driver certificate. Candidates who possess a certificate expired within two years we will re-certify. Must be able to provide a clear BCI and FBI criminal background check report.

POSITION SUMMARY

Protect the safety and well-being of a child or children while being transported, as specified on an IEP.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with moving children in and out of the vehicle and into the school.
Attend to the needs of the assigned child or children while riding.
Report unusual incidents to the proper authorities.
Communicate with the driver, the parents and school personnel as directed.
Document activities on the approved forms.
Maintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domain.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district.
Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.
Serve as a role model for students in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values.
