Responsibilities and Tasks * U.S. Citizenship is required. * Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, routing/switching, VPN). * Serve as the lead architect for network upgrades, expansions, performance optimization, and refresh cycles. * Configure and manage core network devices: switches, routers, WLCs, VPN appliances and related equipment. * Maintain IP addressing schemes, VLAN segmentation, routing policies, QoS, and network redundancy/high availability. * Oversee network monitoring, telemetry, performance analysis, and capacity planning. * Perform root-cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting for network outages, degradation, and configuration issues and implement long-term corrective actions. * Administer network-related cloud services (Azure/AWS networking, ExpressRoute, virtual firewalls, IPSec tunnels). * Provide technical expertise for infrastructure-related projects and security initiatives. * Assist in developing standards, documentation, diagrams, and runbooks for network/security operations. * Mentor junior team members and provide escalation support for network/security issues. * Configure, maintain, and tune enterprise firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco Firepower). * Participate in incident response, especially for network-related security events. * Enforce network security hardening, least privilege, segmentation, and secure remote access. * Review firewall rules, NAT policies, and VPN configurations for accuracy and compliance. * Support InfoSec in compliance efforts (NIST 800-171/172, CMMC, etc.). * Support InfoSec in managing: * IDS/IPS systems * Secure web gateways / proxies * Network-access control (NAC) * Logging/monitoring platforms (SIEM, NDR) * Vulnerability scanners * Zero-trust and segmentation tools * Participate in an On-Call Rotation with other members of the Infrastructure and InfoSec teams. * Assist in on-call and/or emergency support of other aspects of the infrastructure including, but not limited to: * Monthly Security Patching. * Troubleshooting/support for Windows Server outages. * Troubleshooting/support for Linux Server (Red Hat Enterprise) outages. Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications * BS in Engineering, computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience. * 7+ years of experience in network engineering or network architecture. * 3+ years of experience in cyber security engineering. * Ability to architect and troubleshoot complex network environments. * Hands-on experience with: * Monitoring tools (SolarWinds) * Log aggregation and SIEM tools * Cloud networking (Azure/AWS) * Advanced knowledge of: * Routing/switching (OSPF, BGP, STP, VRRP/HSRP, VLANs) * Enterprise firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco) * VPN (IPSec/SSL), WAN technologies, load balancing * Wireless networking and WLC administration * ACLs, segmentation, micro segmentation * IDS/IPS concepts * TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAC Skills and Abilities * CompTIA Network+ * CompTIA Security+ * Preferred industry certifications: * CCNA * CCNP * CISSP * Good customer service skills. * Ability to communicate effectively. * Strong documentation and communication skills. * Experience in environments with compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, NIST/CMMC). * U.S. Citizenship is required.
