Our client located in the East Troy, WI area has added an Electrical Engineer to their growing team. In this role you will design electrical control systems and gas, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam piping layouts for industrial equipment. Our clients' customers cover a wide range of industries, including aerospace/military, automotive, commercial heat treating, and energy/oil to name a few. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Research, develop, and design electrical control systems along with, gas, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam piping layouts, meeting engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and within cost constraints. Familiarity with UL508A, NFPA 79, NFPA 86, NEC, etc. Develop and maintain designs layouts in the computerized system. Ability to generate bill of material and be within budget of the project. Redesign standard products, improving quality and productivity, while reducing costs. Evaluate and select components and parts for products. Ability to develop working relationships with the internal Mechanical Engineering team and with other departments to address and resolve any potential issues while increasing cross-departmental teamwork. Act as a technical resource for sales personnel, service technicians, quality assurance technicians, and for product field support of customers. Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality problems, and to ensure the continuous improvement of processes and methods. Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, analyzers, and diagnostic instrumentation. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet, Modbus, RS-485, SPI) Experience with PLC programming or higher-level embedded development. Familiarity with thermal management, vibration analysis, and reliability testing in rotating systems. Exposure to product lifecycle management (PLM) and ERP systems. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Technical degree or related field (or equivalent technical training/experience). 3 years minimum related experience in controls engineering, with exposure to support/sustaining roles. Experience with ERP software similar to Epicor or SAP. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret mechanical drawings. Ability to travel occasionally to support field service teams or customer sites. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to explain technical issues to non-specialists. We are considering Electrical Engineer candidates who possess the following minimum qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an Electrical emphasis. * Professional registration as a PE. * Working knowledge of applicable building codes. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in power, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, and specification preparation for office buildings, commercial buildings, educational buildings, aviation/port buildings, municipal/county buildings, and industrial buildings. * Demonstrated experience in low voltage systems (e.g., data/telecom, security, access control, audio-visual, and building automation). * Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Bluebeam. * Working knowledge of Autodesk (AutoCAD, Revit) preferred. * Basic understanding of electrical construction materials and methods. * Project Management experience preferred. * Experience managing multiple engineering disciplines is a plus. * Good interoffice and client communication skills and the ability to work independently are crucial. * Fee proposal preparation experience a plus.
