We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic MEP team in Orlando or Sanford, FL! The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, analyzes, and implements electrical systems. This role includes electrical power and lighting calculations and design, load evaluations, equipment and distribution system sizing, failure analysis, risk assessment, and system installation. The Electrical Engineer works with project managers and teams to create design documents, including reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and collaborates effectively with internal and external clients. Duties Include * Design, develop, and implement integrated electrical systems from scratch. * Perform electrical calculations, including load analysis, breaker sizing, conduit and wire sizing, voltage drop, and fault current. * Conduct hazard analysis and develop effective mitigation strategies. * Ensure designs comply with applicable safety and regulatory standards. * Develop and document system configurations and design methodologies. * Create electrical design drawings, installation procedures, and engineering reports. * Oversee work of Electrical Designers, including drawings such as single-line diagrams, panel schedules, power plans, lighting plans, and installation details. Review design drawings, specifications, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and quality. * Assist in the evaluation of designs to meet operational and cost-effectiveness goals. * Support cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on project objectives and timelines. * Ensure electrical designs comply with local codes, regulations, and industry standards. * Research and specify commercially available equipment to meet project requirements for electrical systems. * Interact with clients to understand project needs and address design issues or changes. * Help manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery.
