This position has the following essential responsibilities:
Ability to direct and influence the Systems Engineering Lifecycle for IMA products/technologies.
May contribute to the development and verification plans in accordance with GE Aviation processes.
Develop architecture and trade studies as needed to comply with customer requirements.
Crosstrain and mentor other Systems Engineers in the systems engineering discipline.
Drive and support engineering reuse within the IMA product line.
Solves engineering problems directly with the customer.

Lead/manage interdisciplinary collaboration with software, hardware, test, safety, maintainability, reliability and certification teams.
Escalate issues that need additional engineering or business leadership assistance in a timely manner.
Uses best judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks/problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering as needed.
Takes new perspective on existing solutions - a fresh set of eyes

Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or relatable field of study. Master of Science in similar field preferred.
12+ years of experience in design & development and/or technical project leadership within an engineering product development environment.

This individual will be responsible for independently developing design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for electric utility customers. The individual will review work provided by the client and assess requirements of the scopes. They will receive field work information that will be used to create designs for the final package OR they could be called to go out into the field (1hr radius from home) to collected needed field data themselves. They will work with a designated final Quality Control approver on any necessary changes or revisions before the final electrical distribution design package is submitted to the end client. This individual will be responsible for independently developing design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for electric utility customers. The individual will review work provided by the client and assess requirements of the scopes. They will receive field work information that will be used to create designs for the final package OR they could be called to go out into the field (1hr radius from home) to collected needed field data themselves. The role may also involve assisting with potential permits needed for utility lines to crossroads, easements, private property, or orders to have certain trees cut down where the new lines will run. The individual will use Poleforman or PLA/Pole Loading Analysis or similar software to provide structural analysis for wood pole integrity and determine if replacement is needed. This software will also help with wood pole loading, guying calculations, specifying conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans, and calculation of voltage drop and flicker. They will work with a designated final Quality Control approver on any necessary changes or revisions before the final electrical distribution design package is submitted to the end client. There will be frequent communication via e-mail, phone, in person and Teams with the client.
