The Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in supporting and improving assembly and manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for bridging engineering, manufacturing, and assembly by owning the setup and maintenance of parts, assemblies, and routing within ERP system (Epicor). This position focuses on translating engineering models and customer documentation into efficient, repeatable production processes-from first build through production acceptance, with an emphasis on continuous improvement, ERP/BOM accuracy, fixturing, tooling, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Support production launches and transition products from engineering to manufacturing
Serve as a key resource during first builds by capturing actual build order and identifying required changes
Review and interpret engineering models and documentation to support manufacturability
Create, maintain, and structure manufactured parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and stock jobs in the ERP system
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation
Perform BOM comparisons to ensure alignment between models, documentation, and production requirements
Support data entry related to engineering revisions, change orders, and new part creation
Develop routings and process documentation that accurately reflect how products are built on the manufacturing floor
Create 3D models and support the design and build of fixtures and tooling
Support workstation layout, tooling needs, and basic ergonomic and safety considerations
Identify, evaluate, and implement continuous improvement opportunities in assembly and manufacturing
Lead or participate in continuous improvement events focused on reducing assembly time, improving quality, and enhancing safety
Work closely with Engineering, Assembly, Manufacturing, Test, Shipping, Purchasing, and Quality teams
Support Purchasing by communicating design intent, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers and subcontractors
Perform other related duties as required to support departmental and organizational objectives
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of BOM structures, routings, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency with 3D CAD software
Proficiency with ERP/MRP and PDM systems; Experience with Epicor preferred
Continuous improvement and problem-solving orientation
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Ability to work directly with shop floor personnel and cross-functional teams
Education, Experience and Training:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in OEM or custom manufacturing.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for ongoing process improvement initiatives that deliver excellence across entire value chain. This position develops and improves manufacturing processes and product quality by studying product and manufacturing methods, identifying areas of improvement, and working with manufacturing personnel to ensure plans are implemented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating the successful launch of New Product Introductions (NPI) within Operations.
Contribute to facility transformation, technology transfer and ongoing maintenance of mixed model lines or value streams.
Ensure ongoing success of process improvement initiatives by implementing policies, procedures and process documentation.
Implement demand driven principles and strategies that supports operational excellence and long range plans. (Flexibility, Speed & Responsiveness)
Ensure product, material and information streams flow and are synchronized to produce maximum efficiencies and lowest cost of operation.
Contribute to creation of innovative ideas to improve business results.
Deploy standard Generac tools, methodologies, standards, practices and processes.
Implement objectives to include continuous improvement initiatives to achieve customer satisfaction and fulfillment needs.
Work closely with shop floor personnel to promote ongoing continuous improvement of manufacturing methods, systems and controls.
Responsible for area layouts, process definition, PLC programing, design/selection, justification, and implementation of equipment, programs, and tooling.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology
3-5 years related experience in the Engineering function within a similar working environment.
Additional Qualifications:
Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, Solid Works and/or ProE);
Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills;
Knowledge of lean principles and process improvements;
Diverse skills and experience leading projects;
Experience collaborating cross-functionally to achieve desired results;
Experience operating in high mix, low volume and high volume, low mix production environments;
Demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict resolution;
Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Manufacturing Engineering experience.

The Engineering Intern Program is available to all qualified students enrolled in a college curriculum related to the field of MechanicalEngineering. As an engineering intern, you will be given the opportunity to learn all facets of manufacturing and are expected to complete the internship with invaluable skills and industry knowledge. Each intern works as part of a cross-functional team of engineers (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and HPL). As an intern, you will provide mechanical design, technical analysis and innovative solutions for new and existing equipment. There is a strong focus on safety, machine ergonomics, automation, capability, and efficiency. In addition, you will also provide engineering support for new equipment and machine upgrades on assigned product line(s).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design aspects of machinery utilizing DFM and DFA principles
Analyze designs to ensure adequate part life, functionality and conformance to process demands and standards
Collaborate with mechanicalengineers to create seamless, tightly integrated designs for the highest performing equipment
Assist the commercial team on proposals and integrate designs into customer applications.
Assist with equipment testing, data collection and documenting results
Support sold and development projects collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams and other engineering team members

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
