MechanicalEngineers Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and develop structures, subassemblies, and mechanical components of truck and trailer bodies or ambulances using CAD software (Solid Edge, SolidWorks or AutoCAD Inventor preferred).
- Create detailed 3D models of sheet metal parts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings with appropriate tolerances and material specifications.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses (structural, load, and performance) to validate designs.
- Support production through technical drawings, BOMs, process documentation, and engineering change management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality departments to ensure design intent is maintained through production.
- Review and improve existing designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and durability.
- Research materials, components, and manufacturing methods for potential implementation in future designs.
- Participate in prototype builds and testing to evaluate design performance and validate design changes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and customer standards.
- Provide technical support for field issues and product improvement initiatives.
