The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the accurate preparation of all equipment drawings required for customer approval, shop manufacturing and installation. This role acts as the project lead for jobs throughout design, fabrication, and start-up of the equipment, being the main point of contact with the customer throughout. This position also provides support on external and internal issues related to Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Serivce. Successful Packaging Engineers are customer service oriented and work on projects which optimize packaging and bring sustainable products to the marketplace. This position is currently open and reflects a replacement position due to an internal transfer, promotion, or departure. The salary range for this position is $68,000 to $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. Responsibilities When your actions lead to success: • Work collaboratively with Corporate R&D Engineers to optimize or develop products and improve cost performance initiatives with existing and new customers. • Document, coordinate and conduct trials for products that improve internal and external projects or initiatives. • Establish and audit internal and external product and process specifications. • Provide technical support to customers as required. • Coordinate onsite customer visits. • Utilize all resources available to problem solve issues. • Develop and conduct training and participate in internal/external training as appropriate. • Manage Development Projects in accordance with the Design Control Policy and Procedures. • Participate in Stage Gate Project reviews and follow up promptly on any assigned action items. • Work collaboratively with their team on any special projects as assigned. • Co-manage the SQC Pack software program. • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards. Qualifications When your expertise drives us: • Degree from accredited 4-year college or university.
