The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
The Project Manager will be primarily responsible for managing cross-functional teams, coordinating software and hardware development projects, and ensuring timely and quality project delivery across the Command-and-Control Directorate. This role requires a deep understanding of both software and hardware processes, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. We are looking for a skilled Senior Software and Hardware Project Manager to oversee the development and delivery of our cutting-edge products from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Perform the essential duties of Project Management to provide oversight and assist in managing all aspects of a project to include budget forecasting and work estimation.
Utilize Project Management skills and experience in the management of Project Performance, Scope, Schedule, Budget, Risks, and Change Management.
Demonstrate understanding of project scheduling development and resource loading to capture all work performed in executing the project lifecycle.
Assist with the preparation of Project artifacts to include, but not limited to, project planning artifacts, project status reports, project briefs, etc.
Schedule, facilitate, and document Project Team meetings.
Exercise extensive participation in management planning; continuously demonstrates effort to improve overall operations; restructure immediate and long-range goals, objectives, and plans.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in computer or system science, information technology, engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution , and at least ten (10) years of direct progressive project management experience in software and hardware development and operations environments. Additional relevant education may substitute a portion of the required experience.

Job Requirements
PMP or other relevant project management certification highly desired.
Proven track record of successfully managing large, complex projects, spanning multiple teams from start to finish as evidence by prior experiences.
Strong expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.), principles, and tools (JIRA, MS Project, etc.).
Deep understanding of software development lifecycles and hardware manufacturing processes.
Experience in hardware/software development, systems engineering and project management in an Aerospace environment highly desirable.
Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated experience working with embedded systems, IoT, and integrated software-hardware products is highly desirable.
Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment across multiple projects, while meeting or exceeding schedule expectations as well as maintaining superior product delivery.
Must be able to coordinate work between multiple project disciplines.
Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand, may be required to access various locations on the facility.
Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.

In this role, you will contribute to the development, integration, and testing of software systems that support naval warfare modeling, training, and operational analysis.
On-site work is mandatory for this position - Candidates that reside in these areas will be considered Orlando, FL and Cambridge, MA

What YOU will do:
You will work closely with subject matter experts, military stakeholders, and fellow engineers to deliver high-fidelity simulation environments that model surface, subsurface, and air maritime operations.
In This Role, You Will:
* Design, develop, and maintain software components for naval simulation systems.
* Implement models for naval vessels, sensors, weapons, and maritime environments.
* Integrate simulation software with real-time systems and/or synthetic environments.
* Work with simulation frameworks such as HLA (High-Level Architecture) or DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation).
* Perform software testing, debugging, and validation in both standalone and integrated environments.
* Participate in system design reviews and support documentation efforts.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, analysts, and program managers.
What YOU need:
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, SoftwareEngineering, or related field.
* 10+ years of professional software development experience.
* Experience with naval or maritime simulation systems (e.g., tactical trainers, wargaming, operational models).
* Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, or Java.
* Familiarity with simulation standards (HLA, DIS, SISO).
* Understanding of naval operations, platforms, or warfare tactics.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred:
* Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
* Experience with physics-based modeling or environmental effects (e.g., sonar propagation, hydrodynamics).
* Prior work with DoD simulation tools (e.g., JSAF, Aegis Combat System simulators, GCCS-M).
* Knowledge of Agile development practices and version control systems (e.g., Git).
* Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
