Position Summary:
The Cardiovascular Sonographer II Echocardiographer plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care. This position is responsible for independently performing comprehensive echocardiographic studies using multiple imaging modalities to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Youll apply advanced technical expertise, critical thinking, and compassionate communication while working in a supportive, team-oriented outpatient environment.
What You'll Do:
Perform high-quality echocardiographic examinations in accordance with departmental standards and IAC protocols
Independently conduct advanced echo procedures, including:
Imaging enhancement agents
Saline contrast (bubble studies)
Portable and stress echocardiograms
Strain imaging
Assisting with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures
Accurately document patient data and exam results using the electronic information management system
Ensure proper documentation and billing compliance for all procedures performed
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
Serve as a resource for learning by assisting with the orientation and training of students and team members
Provide patient-focused care with clear communication and sound clinical judgment
Adapt to and learn new equipment and technologies as they are introduced

Requirements
Education:Graduated from an accredited cardiovascular technology program or diagnostic medical ultrasound program. Extensive experience may substitute training.
Experience:Minimum of 2 years' experience in cardiac ultrasound or dual registered, proficient in echo and vascular.
Certification:BLS (American Heart Association/Basic Life Support) required. Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Echocardiography (RCS) required.

Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Charge Medical Technologist or designate, the Echocardiography Sonographer provides delivery of ultrasound services as defined at regional and local levels. The Sonographer performs echocardiography scans requested by Physicians, and deals effectively with related patient management, exam requests, diagnostic file management, equipment and supplies management. Where experiences do occur, in unusual circumstances, they assist in the provision of radiographic/ECG duties, if appropriately trained and qualified. The incumbent will maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and maintain standards put forth by Accreditation. Functions are conducted in accordance with the Mission and Values of Shared Health, current policies, procedures and applicable legislation.

Must be a graduate of an approved and accredited Ultrasound training program.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiography Technologists (CAMRT) would be an asset.

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist or Vascular Sonographer, you will perform advanced diagnostic vascular non-invasive technological exams, conduct and document ultrasound and/or vascular assessments on patients as ordered, performing these procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner and prioritizing patient care.

What you will do in this role:
You will schedule ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and prepare patients for what to expect and explaining procedures
You will perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures including positioning patients and selecting the appropriate transducer
You manage processing and documentation including developing film, making hard copy images, documenting tests, and ensuring department records, reports and files are correct
You will maintain ultrasound equipment and notify management of faulty equipment
What Qualifications you will need:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer is required
Must be certified in diagnostic ultrasound in accordance to state regulations
Current ARRT or ARDMS license is required.
FLORIDA ONLY: Must possess a current and unrevoked ARDMS.
TENNESSEE ONLY: Must possess a state license to perform imaging procedures in a physician practice

Summary
Position Highlights:
* Under the broad direction of the Radiologist and Administrator of Diagnostic Imaging, the Ultrasound Technologist shall perform ultrasound examinations on selected portions of the anatomy as requested by the clinician on patients based on age appropriateness. The technologist is expected to perform a variety of ultrasound procedures with the knowledge and ability to obtain a quality diagnostic examination.

The Ideal Candidate:
* Competency in all aspects of Sonography, a working knowledge of anatomy and an understanding of pathology, which affect the quality of the ultrasound procedure.
* Interpersonal skills and basic computer skills.
* Preferred - Minimum of two years' experience in ultrasound within a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
* Complete the required calibration and understand the Quality Assurance guidelines for equipment.
* Must be competent in performing all Ultrasound exams and knowledgeable on the usage of all equipment.
* Able to understand and apply correct billing charges per exam.
* Coordinate workflow and patient schedules.
