Conducts comprehensive diagnostic sonograms and records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist. Assist the supervising physician with invasive procedures as needed. Continuously evaluates sonographic findings throughout the examination to ensure thorough and comprehensive study, providing the physician with complete and clinically relevant diagnostic information. Recognizes situations or abnormalities that require the direct observation of real-time imaging by a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist. Utilizes pulse-wave and color/power Doppler to obtain vascular and spectral Doppler waveforms for interpretation by a Maternal-Fetal specialist. Advises Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist and/or referring provider, if directed, of examination finding, including a preliminary report of findings observed during a diagnostic sonographic evaluation. Education Completion of a twelve (12) month program in Diagnostic medical Sonography / General Ultrasound or equivalent certificate program is required Experience Prefer a minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in related field. ARDMS OBGYN and Fetal Echo experience or Retal Echo certification required. Will consider experience with fetal monitoring without certification with documentation or recommendations.
