Key Responsibilities:
Accommodate, modify and adapt lessons and curriculum as needed to meet individual student needs and IEP Goals
Support in the facilitation of IEP meetings as well as development of the IEP
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental levels and interests of their students
Set and communicate clear expectations for classroom behavior and school environment by applying positive reinforcement and/or behavior modification techniques as needed. Assist in the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans

What you will do:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, treat, and care for patients in assigned area. Implements assessment/treatment/care based on the developmental stages of the patient. Interprets verbal and nonverbal communication of the patient.
Evaluates patient utilizing techniques/tests appropriate to the patient type including assessment of articulation, expressive and receptive language, cognition, memory, voice, reading and writing ability, and swallowing.
In accordance with patient evaluations, establishes treatment plan which specifies treatment goals and treatment modalities that will assist the patient to regain function.
Administers and instructs patients in performance of all aspects of the treatment plan, assessing the effectiveness and modifying as necessary.
Performs bedside/clinical swallowing evaluations.
Performs Video fluoroscopic swallowing evaluations and interpretations in conjunction with Radiology (IP/OP only).
Prepares and completes all patient records, billing and documentation according to departmental guidelines.
Communicates and works in cooperation with physicians, nursing and other hospital staff to provide optimal patient care.
Involves the patient, family and caregivers in the plan of care, including post-discharge planning. Conducts patient/family education sessions and provides home programs considering the developmental needs of the patient.
May assist with supervision of paraprofessional staff, students and volunteers as directed; delegates tasks and monitors performance of tasks to ensure they are completed correctly.
Utilizes correct body mechanics. Adheres to hospital and departmental safety precautions and infection control procedures in order to maintain a safe patient care and working environment.
Assists with planning and conducting in-service programs and participates in staff meetings, rehab conferences and educational programs. Attends all mandatory in-services.
Assumes responsibility, as assigned, for overall departmental functioning in absence of supervisor.
Assumes responsibility for own professional growth, keeps abreast of developments in the field of Speech/Language Pathology and incorporates approved developments in treatment and evaluation plans.
Participates in departmental Quality Assurance Program and special assignments as requested.

Responsibilities
Speech-LanguagePathologists (SLP) evaluate and provide skilled speech-language therapy to individuals in a home setting, under the care of an attending physician. At Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, the home setting may include single or multi-family homes, assisted living, independent living, or memory care.
The SLP evaluates and treats patients with language impairments, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, cognitive communication difficulties, voice disorders, and those requiring alternative or augmentative communication. At Enhabit, an SLP may often work with patients who have experienced a stroke, and those with progressive diseases such as Parkinsons disease and dementia.

The SpeechLanguagePathologist will:
Evaluate patient's speech, language and swallowing abilities in order to formulate and conduct treatment plan designed to improve communicative efficiency of patients with communication problems.
Establish patient treatment goals tailored to each patient's needs and capabilities.
Review patient's chart, interview patient/family and consult with physicians, audiologists and other relevant clinical professionals in order to evaluate patient condition according to standard procedures.
Counsel patients, family members/significant others regarding communication deficits and instruct them in proper management techniques.
Monitor patient progress, re-establish goals and revise treatment, and alert physicians to changes in patient's condition.
Evaluate patient's current pain levels (0-10) and history of recent pain experience; provide appropriate pain education and intervention in consultation with physician and pain specialists as needed; provide ongoing assessment of pain and implementation of tools for management.
Maintain clinical records including writing diagnostic reports, progress reports, discharge summaries, re-evaluations and rechecks, summarizing family and professional contact and logging daily statistics and other clinical data.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Speech-LanguagePathologist, you hold a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and managing communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. Your expertise encompasses a wide range of skills aimed at improving speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing abilities.
Here is an outline of the primary responsibilities of a Speech-LanguagePathologist:
Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in individuals with communication impairments. Speech-LanguagePathologists use standardized assessments, clinical observations, and diagnostic tools to identify the nature and severity of communication challenges and formulate accurate diagnoses.
Treatment Planning and Intervention: Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and goals of each patient. Speech-LanguagePathologists design therapy sessions that incorporate evidence-based techniques and strategies to address speech production, language comprehension and expression, social communication skills, voice quality, and swallowing function.
Therapeutic Interventions: Implement a variety of therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing abilities. This may include articulation drills, language exercises, cognitive-communication tasks, voice therapy techniques, fluency shaping strategies, and management protocols. Speech-LanguagePathologists provide personalized instruction and feedback to support skill development and functional improvement.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): Assess the need for and implement AAC systems and devices to support individuals with severe communication impairments. Speech-LanguagePathologists collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to select and customize AAC solutions that enhance communication and participation in daily activities.
Dysphagia Management: Evaluate and treat swallowing disorders (dysphagia) through a combination of clinical assessments, therapeutic exercises, compensatory strategies, diet modifications, and swallowing rehabilitation techniques. Speech-LanguagePathologists play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient swallowing function to prevent aspiration and improve nutritional intake.
