Job Responsibilities - Speech Language Pathologist:
Providing direct speech-language therapy services to students according to students' IEPs
Conducting assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas of speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills
Developing treatment plans (IEPs) that are strength-based as well as child and family-centered for overall educational improvement
Ensuring evaluations, treatment plans and service delivery are aligned with school, state, and federal guidelines
Ensuring students' skills are generalized across settings by collaborating with teaching teams and related service providers
Requirements

Master degree

Prime Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Assess and diagnose speech, language and hearing disorders, and determine program eligibility. 2. Formulate and implement goals and objectives and establish an individualized therapy program for qualifying students. 3. Provide therapy for students demonstrating problems with receptive and expressive language, voice disorders, speech fluency and hearing impairments. 4. Understand and expedite federal and State regulations as they pertain to speech, language and hearing services. 5. Maintain complete and accurate records of attendance accounting data. 6. Assist parents and teachers in understanding and implementing therapeutic goals for individual children and students. 7. Assume responsibility for an assigned student caseload regarding the state mandated IEP review process. This includes but is not limited to: a) Assist in the preparation and conducting of annual and triennial reviews according to legal timelines. b) Complete necessary assessment and develop a written report including preliminary goals and objectives. c) Assist in notifying parents of meeting date. d) Review and update case load files annually or as directed to assure they contain all proper documentation. e) Works in conjunction with psychologist in ensuring the timely completion of Total Service IEP Reports. 8. Cooperate with County personnel and other agencies when supplementary information or services are necessary. 9. Instruct individuals in receptive integrative/processing and expressive language skills. 10. Attend appropriate meetings and staff development programs as directed.

Job Description
Provides treatment programs to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities within each patient's structural or functional limitations
Utilizing appropriate evaluation tools and completing accurate evaluations.
Supervising Clinical Fellow and other SLPs in direct patient care and patient related activities.
Writing specific, objective documentation, which is outcome oriented and details the patient's needs, potential to benefit from treatment, and progress achieved to date. Includes specific, objective measurable goals.
Managing Medicare Medical Review and Denials process in conjunction with Director of Rehabilitation and therapy staff
Qualifications
Availability to work full-time as a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in California.
Bachelors or Master's Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited Speech Therapy program.
Knowledge in Speech-Language Pathology evaluation and treatment as they relate to medically based speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to work with all types and levels of staff and patients.
Experience in a skilled nursing facility
CPR certified
