The Speech Pathologist is responsible for accurately evaluating, diagnosing, preparing, implementing, monitoring and supervising an individually tailored therapy program to maximize performance and obtain treatment goals. Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tests, evaluates, treats, diagnoses and prescribes treatment for patients experiencing speech, language, cognition, swallowing and/or communication disorders.
Provides a full range of diagnostic, counseling and rehabilitative services.
Assists in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, protocols to enhance patient outcomes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Provisional license acceptable during Clinical Fellowship; must obtain Virginia license upon completion.
Current Certification of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language, Hearing Associations (ASHA); or if in Clinical Fellowship, must obtain upon completion.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in speech-pathology/communication disorders.
Knowledge of speech-language pathology principles and theories.
Knowledge and experience in the administration of a variety of assessment tools, treatment plans and equipment associated with communication, language and oral-motor disorder.
Ability to meet on call requirements of department.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.

Responsibilities
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) evaluate and provide skilled speech-language therapy to individuals in a home setting, under the care of an attending physician. At Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, the home setting may include single or multi-family homes, assisted living, independent living, or memory care.
The SLP evaluates and treats patients with language impairments, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, cognitive communication difficulties, voice disorders, and those requiring alternative or augmentative communication. At Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, an SLP may often work with patients who have experienced a stroke, and those with progressive diseases such as Parkinson's disease and dementia.

2. Performs professional work designed to provide Speech therapy to families of children with
developmental disabilities.
3. Provide patient care services involving evaluation and treatment of speech/language or hearing
disorders.
4. Work involving developmental screening/assessment, speech therapy services and consultation
with family members and other professionals working with the family. Strong communication skills to work directly with parents and staff.
5. Identify, research, and implement latest evidence-based methodologies in order to maintain the practice up to date.
6. Direct/Indirect oversight pertaining to early intervention programs and experience collaborating with OT and ABA staff.
7. Support administrative team with staff/parent clinical concerns.
8. Other duties assigned by Clinical Director within scope of work.
