Position Overview:
To provide services to students with communication disabilities which will allow them to access the BPS curriculum and to participate in both school and community life to the greatest extent possible. Responsibilities:
1. Evaluation:
Speech-LanguagePathologists will assess students referred for evaluation using appropriate testing instruments.
Speech-LanguagePathologists will write reports that reflect the results of standardized tests and observations that contain information helpful and understandable to all involved parties and that contain clear recommendations.
Evaluations will be performed within timelines established in state and federal regulations.
2. Speech and Language Therapy Services:
Therapy and consultation services will be provided to students based on the individual needs of each student and in compliance with each child s IEP or 504 Plan.
Speech-LanguagePathologists will provide services in accordance with the IEP or 504 Plan.
Speech-LanguagePathologists will participate in pre-referral, Team Meeting, Student Support Team activities and will provide professional development to school based staff as requested.
Speech-LanguagePathologists will consult with other Related Services providers, teachers and parents in order to provide effective services in a variety of settings.
3. General Responsibilities:
Speech-LanguagePathologists are to comply with state regulations concerning renewal of certifications and licenses.
Speech-LanguagePathologists are expected to develop, update and adhere to both a daily and weekly schedule. Each school s principal should be provided with a copy of that schedule.
Speech-LanguagePathologists are expected to comply with BPS rules, policies and procedures as well as those of their assigned school(s) and Unified Student Services.
Speech-LanguagePathologists are expected to maintain records of prior planning of lessons and to keep therapy notes for each child and therapy session and to maintain accurate records of student attendance
Qualifications - Required:
Massachusetts Teachers Certification in Speech, Language and Hearing Disorders and Massachusetts License in Speech-Language Pathology
Education: Hold a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Meet all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed
Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Speech and LanguagePathologist (SLP) to join our team and provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in the [school district or school name]. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) to address student needs, in collaboration with the educational team.
Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on speech articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, and voice disorders.
Work with teachers to support students in the classroom, providing strategies and recommendations to promote communication development.
Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans as needed.
Communicate with parents, caregivers, and school staff to update them on student progress and suggest ways to reinforce speech and language skills at home and in the classroom.
Provide training and resources to school staff on strategies to support students with speech and language needs.
Stay up-to-date on the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech and language pathology.
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate and effective services are provided.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Massachusetts State Licensure as a Speech and LanguagePathologist.
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
Experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, as well as evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of students.
